Dahlia's POV
"Now that you two have tied the knot, you need to make this marriage work," my mother's voice drifted toward me.
I kept my eyes fixed on the floor, steeling myself for the scolding I was certain would come.
Instead, when her words finally sank in, I found myself paralyzed with shock. My head lifted slowly, my thoughts scattered like leaves in the wind, until the reality of what I was seeing finally clicked into place.
Warmth radiated from her gaze, and her lips curved in a tender smile.
She gave my hand a reassuring squeeze before extending the same gesture to Soren.
The pure satisfaction written across her features left me speechless, my fingers unconsciously weaving together in my lap.
That was when I became aware of the elegant, long fingers that had somehow become entangled with mine.
