Dahlia's POV
Lorena flashed me a confident grin, her voice dripping with certainty. "Trust me, I won't breathe a word to anyone. But seriously, don't pick fights with Soren. He might be reasonable, but his grandfather? That's where the real danger lies."
"Fine, fine. You sound exactly like my mother with all this lecturing," I shot back.
Lorena paused, her expression growing serious. "I still think you need protection. What happens when those two idiots decide to come for you again?"
I let out a heavy sigh. "I can handle myself."
Lorena's eyes narrowed as she studied my face intently. "Dahlia, I know you've been struggling lately, but you already broke your promise once. I refuse to watch you destroy your future because of a couple of worthless jerks."
My lips pressed into a thin line, my brow furrowing slightly. "I'll keep myself in check."
Lorena examined me for a long moment. "Can you really promise me that?"
