Blanche's POV
After hanging up, I sat on the bed for a while.
Carry's words didn't sting anymore. I just felt empty inside.
Carry had already decided to see Joanna as her mother, and honestly, it didn't matter why she was so attached to her.
After pulling myself together, I started cleaning up the room. I put away the scattered petals and gifts, washed up, and crawled into bed.
The next morning, I got dressed and left the Callum Mansion. I was going to face Zain and talk about divorce. No more delays. I drove straight to his office building.
Standing outside, I called Zain, but he didn't pick up. Instead, he texted: [I'm in a meeting. We'll talk later.] I fired back: [I'll wait for you at your office.] He didn't respond, so I found a spot in the lobby and settled in.
After a while, the receptionist's face lit up like a Christmas tree. She jumped to her feet, practically glowing. "Ms. Vins, you're here!"
I turned around and saw Joanna walking through the entrance.
