I looked at Zain, keeping my expression completely neutral—no sadness, no anger, no joy. Just calm indifference.
Zain stared back at me, and I could see the realization hitting him. He finally understood I was serious about divorce.
I sat quietly in the passenger seat, holding his gaze. He looked stunned, disbelief written all over his face. "What did you say?"
For years, I'd been the perfect wife—caring for Carry, looking after his parents, never causing any drama.
Zain had always seemed to appreciate that about me.
I never complained, never threw tantrums. It was probably why our marriage survived all these years.
But now, here I was—the same compliant Blanche—asking for a divorce.
Even though he'd heard me clearly, Zain needed confirmation.
I kept my voice steady and emotionless. "Zain, let's get a divorce."
