Chapter 5 — The Call
Five minutes later, Tsukishiro returned to Ayanokoji's office, holding a tablet.
"Her number, sir," he said, handing it over.
Ayanokoji glanced at it, expression calm and unreadable. He dialed the number and put the call on speaker. The office was silent, save for the faint hum of the city outside.
Two minutes later, the line clicked.
"Hello? Who is this?" Suzune's voice was sharp, cautious.
Ayanokoji's voice responded smoothly, calm and measured. "Good evening. I am Ayanokoji."
There was a pause on the other end. Suzune's eyes widened in shock.
"What… what?!" she stammered.
"I heard you came to request a meeting at 3 PM tomorrow at the building you visited today," Ayanokoji continued, his tone neutral.
Suzune blinked, then her voice hardened. "Who are you? Are you trying to prank me? How did you even get my number? Stop this immediately, or I'll call the police!"
Before Ayanokoji could respond, Suzune slammed the phone down, ending the call.
Tsukishiro, leaning against the wall, couldn't hold back his laughter. "She's fiery. I like her already."
Ayanokoji, unbothered, leaned back in his chair, eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "She is… something else."
Tsukishiro wiped a tear of laughter from his eye. "That was… entertaining."
After a brief pause, Ayanokoji spoke again, calm as ever. "Send her a proper message — by email. From our company. Make sure she understands the meeting is confirmed, and that she will present her plan herself."
Tsukishiro nodded, still smirking. "Understood. I'll handle it right away."
Ayanokoji turned back toward the window, watching the city lights. "Interesting. Very interesting," he thought. Suzune Horikita had shown fire and boldness. It would be fascinating to see how far she could be pushed — and how far she could grow.
