Chapter 3: Alternative Ways to Complete Commissions!
Roshin knew his earlier behavior drastically deviated from his usual nice-guy persona—but the truth was, he'd never been that much of a pushover to begin with.
It was all just part of the [Traveler] Talent's quest system.
If it were genuine goodwill, Roshin wouldn't mind helping out.
But a perfectly capable high school student asking someone else to clean for him? Do you not have hands and feet?
Moreover, Roshin had discovered that his Talent's commission system didn't just assign tasks—it also revealed certain information.
Like how did it know that classmate was ditching his chores to see his girlfriend?
Although Roshin couldn't quite comprehend it, even more unbelievable things had already appeared before him, so he could still accept this matter.
Right now, the most important thing was to hurry and complete that time-limited mission.
Seriously, that time-limited mission was really valuable, okay?
600 Primogems—that was equivalent to over half of all the Primogems he'd painstakingly earned through hard work over the past two years.
And that special weapon mastery reward... it was really tempting.
Roshin's home wasn't far from school, and today he had ridden his bicycle, so it would take at most five minutes to get from school to his house.
If nothing unexpected happened...
But if nothing unexpected happened, then something unexpected was bound to happen.
As soon as Roshin ran to the bicycle parking area, he saw someone committing violence against the rear tire of his bike.
"Damn blondie, you're messing with my bike again!" Roshin's blood boiled as he glared at that bastard with his dyed blond hair.
"Shit, why are you here so fast today?" The blondie, holding a screwdriver, was shocked to see Roshin appear so quickly.
Normally, Roshin was responsible for all the cleaning duties in his class every day—it had practically become routine.
"Damn it!" Under ordinary circumstances, Roshin wouldn't have cared much about the guy, at most just calling a teacher or a security guard.
But today, Roshin was in a real hurry.
Because he'd noticed that the Herrscher of Sentience's location marker was right at his doorstep—no wonder she'd sent him this commission.
And that blondie was no stranger to Roshin either—he was the school bully who'd nearly been traumatized by the infamous "mop dipped in shit, Lü Bu reincarnated" incident.
That was how their feud had started.
"Since you've seen it, I won't bother hiding it anymore. I was the one who messed with your bike before." Seeing that Roshin had discovered his secret, the blondie stopped pretending.
No more acting—he laid his cards on the table.
Roshin stormed forward angrily.
"What? You actually dare to hit me?" The blondie stood on his tiptoes, looking down at Roshin, who was slightly shorter, and couldn't help but laugh.
Roshin walked to the rear seat of his bike, placed his backpack on it, and began rummaging inside.
"What, is this all the courage you've got? Not in the bathroom anymore, so you don't have the guts to fight?" The blondie sneered.
Then his smug grin slowly froze—he actually saw Roshin slowly pull out... a brick?!
Thwack!
While the blondie was still stunned, Roshin smashed the brick straight onto his head.
As everyone knew, Roshin loved helping others, so it was only natural for him to carry some "equipment" for that purpose, right?
And bricks, being both easy to find and easy to discard, naturally became Roshin's weapon of choice.
Roshin stood there coldly, watching as the blondie crumpled from the brick strike.
I'm a model student who once threw a brick at a bank robber—who the hell do you think you are, trying to fight me?
Right now, Roshin really wanted to give the guy a couple more hits to the head, but seeing the mission timer ticking away, he decided against it.
Tossing his backpack into the bike basket, Roshin grabbed the brick and sprinted straight for the school gate.
Forget the backpack! The Originium is more important!
As for why he was carrying a brick? Well, of course, it was to destroy the evidence.
And that blond guy?
Hah, if it weren't for the lack of surveillance in the bicycle parking area, that punk would've been caught long ago. So no need to worry about cameras.
What if the blond tries to accuse Roshin of assault later?
Come on, who do you think the police would believe—a model student with commendation banners from the police station, a well-known good Samaritan, or some random blond punk?
...
"Thank goodness the school's on break. There are usually plenty of taxis at the gate, or I might not have finished the mission in time." Getting out of the cab and seeing the mission timer still had 12 minutes left, Roshin finally let out a sigh of relief.
The reason he'd lost eight minutes was mainly due to terrible traffic.
To prevent the taxi driver from picking up more passengers and wasting his already limited time, Roshin had paid triple the fare.
To ensure the mission wouldn't be interrupted, he got out of the cab a short distance from his home.
"Roshin? Why are you back from school so early? Oh, right, right! Come quick and talk some sense into Xiao Lin. She won't listen to me about not eating the lollipop—she only listens to you." A beautiful young woman spotted Roshin, and the worry on her face instantly melted away.
The source of her distress was naturally the little girl in front of her, clutching a lollipop with a look of desperate longing.
[Ding! You have a new commission!]
[No More Candy]: Too much candy will give kids cavities. Stop her from eating the last piece—a request from a lovely young mother.
Reward: 5 Primogems
Difficulty: 0 stars
Roshin glanced at the time, then at the task requirements.
Accept!
After clicking "Accept," Roshin took a deep breath and walked up to the little girl.
"Big Brother Roshin, do you want some candy?" The little girl held out the lollipop while asking, confident that Roshin wouldn't take it.
After all, Big Brother Roshin was a good person—not like Mommy, who was a mean grown-up.
Touched by the little girl's gesture, Roshin felt a surge of emotion.
Ah, what a sweet child.
"Well, if you insist, I'll reluctantly accept." Roshin nodded, then—before the girl could react—snatched the lollipop, stuffed it into his mouth, and bolted toward his house at breakneck speed.
[Ding! Mission complete.]
"?!?!" The little girl's eyes widened in shock, as if she'd just witnessed something unbelievable.
Th-this… this…
Tears welled up in her eyes.
"WAAAAAH!!!! That… that was the last… the last piece! The limited-edition one… WAAAAH!!!" The little girl burst into loud sobs.
Now the young woman was even more flustered.
