Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Mission Complete, Congratulations on... a Daughter?

[Ding! Relationship confirmed. Mission fully completed.]

Holy crap, that actually worked?

Roshin was stunned.

His earlier thought was like naming himself "Husband" in a game full of beautiful girls—just a playful joke.

But shouldn't there at least be a confirmation prompt before locking in the relationship? What kind of system just accepts it outright like this?

So, this girl and I just became father and daughter?

I'm only 17.

And is such an absurd relationship even allowed?

If I'd known this would happen, I might as well have said we were married from the start.

[Ding! Congratulations on obtaining 600 Primogems and a random weapon mastery skill.]

[Would you like to draw the skill immediately?]

"No."

[Detecting that you're currently occupied, all rewards have been deposited into your Inventory.]

"Ahem, so... can this relationship be changed?" Roshin asked mentally.

[Relationship modification requires mutual consent.]

"..." Why was confirming it so easy earlier, but changing it now so difficult?

This gave Roshin the same feeling as those name-change card schemes—where you have to pay to alter your name.

Trash system!

Hmm? Wait, this is my own ability? Never mind then.

Em... should I ask the Herrscher of Sentience if we can change our relationship from father-daughter to siblings?

As this thought crossed his mind, Roshin couldn't help but glance at the Herrscher of Sentience leaning against his pillow.

"Thwack!" For some reason, the Herrscher suddenly sat up and delivered a karate chop to Roshin's head.

"Huh? Why did you hit me?" Roshin was utterly confused.

"I felt like you were talking bad about me," the Herrscher said suspiciously, eyeing him.

She'd only stopped reading his mind for a brief moment—what nonsense was he thinking about her now?

"...If possible, could you not lean on my pillow?" Roshin said after a pause.

"???"

"Or maybe wash your hair first?" Roshin suggested, eyeing his now nearly soiled pillow.

"That's why?" The Herrscher didn't understand, but she was utterly shocked!

You don't mind me living in your home, but you want me, an injured person, to get out of your bed just because I dirtied your pillow? Do you have no humanity?

"What else? If you're going to live here, you wouldn't want the place to be filthy, right?"

"That makes sense," the Herrscher nodded reluctantly.

"So... do you know how to use modern appliances?"

"Who do you think you're looking down on?" The Herrscher glared at him.

"Don't get mad. Didn't you say you were an immortal earlier? If you're an immortal, it'd be normal not to have experienced modern society. I'm just concerned. Though it seems you're not quite the immortal I imagined," Roshin remarked, sizing her up.

"Obviously, I'm omnipotent!" The Herrscher declared proudly.

"So that means you can bathe without my help, right?" Roshin sighed in relief.

"No, I need it," the Herrscher shook her head.

"Huh?"

"My whole body hurts right now—bathing is out of the question," she grumbled.

"But you just hit me with so much energy, and it really hurt."

"No no no, I didn't hit you. I just made you think you were hit," the Herrscher clarified.

"That works?"

"Of course it does. But I won't make things hard for you. Just help me wash my hair and find me some clean clothes."

"...You're really not holding back, are you?"

"Why would I? Your home is my home now—what's there to hold back about at home?"

"..." Roshin suddenly felt like he'd invited a wolf into his house.

Why was this girl adapting so quickly?

But to prevent his blanket from suffering further damage, Roshin helped the other person up and carried them on his back toward the bathroom.

Although the other person was in pain all over and didn't want to waste energy, they could still easily beat Roshin up—even while sitting down.

Roshin was well aware of this fact.

If Roshin's nursing skills could be quantified, they'd be remarkably high—all thanks to hands-on experience. So, something like washing the other person's hair was well within his capabilities. He even took the opportunity to wipe their face.

Only then did Roshin finally get a clear look at just how stunningly beautiful they were.

As for clothes…

"Hey, I have to say, Roshin, your taste in clothes isn't bad. I'm quite satisfied with this green dinosaur pajama set!" The Herrscher of Sentience stood in the living room, hands on her hips.

"You could move all along, yet you still made me wash your hair for you!" Roshin glared at her angrily.

"I only said I was in pain all over—I never said I couldn't move. You're just dumb." The Herrscher of Sentience stuck her tongue out at Roshin before flopping onto the sofa.

"Ding-dong!" Just as Roshin was about to head back to his room to claim his reward, the doorbell rang.

After glancing at the Herrscher of Sentience, Roshin walked to the front door.

"Hmm, Miss Yun Xia, what brings you here?"

"What do you think? Did you not want your backpack anymore?" Yun Xia tossed the backpack straight into Roshin's arms.

"Thanks." Feeling the now significantly lighter weight of the backpack, Roshin nodded.

Without the brick inside, it really was much lighter.

"No need for thanks. If you really want to show gratitude, you'd be better off telling me why you were in such a hurry today?" Clearly, Roshin's deskmate was far more interested in that.

Roshin's behavior today had been beyond unusual—there was no way he'd act like that unless something major was going on.

After all, he had even turned down someone's request.

"Hmm, let me guess—is it because of that woman behind you?" Yun Xia tilted her head slightly, catching sight of the Herrscher of Sentience lounging on the sofa in her dinosaur pajamas.

"Yep, come on in." Roshin stepped aside.

Yun Xia, sucking on a lollipop, fixed her gaze intently on the unfamiliar woman in Roshin's home.

"This is my cousin. I only remembered she was coming today right before school ended. She's trained in martial arts and hits really hard," Roshin muttered under his breath.

This was practically an open act of settling a personal grudge.

[Quick, say your name! I still don't know what to call you.]

At the same time, Roshin thought to himself.

It might sound a bit silly, but he was sure the other person could hear his thoughts.

"Hello, I'm Fu Hua, Roshin's cousin," the Herrscher of Sentience greeted Yun Xia with a smile.

"Cousin… Never mind, I won't come in." After a brief moment of thought, Yun Xia shook her head and stayed at the door.

"By the way, if you're short on money, you can borrow from me. Supporting two people on your family's income must be tough, right?" Before leaving, Yun Xia said to Roshin.

"Don't worry about that—she came with rent money." Though inwardly weeping at the words, Roshin put on a cheerful face.

"That's good. Should I tear down the rental ad at the guardhouse on my way out? Posting ads in a villa district—who'd even believe that?"

"Then I'll trouble you, Miss Yun." Roshin quickly nodded.
