Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Zuko's 'Attack'

Booooo!

Zuko stood on the deck of his Ship as it let out a loud, rumbling horn sound. His eyes were in a glare, almost as if it was in a permanent glare form.

Behind him stood his uncle, Iroh. They were about to land on the island of Kyoshi, and they would either find the avatar here or they would have to search somewhere else.

"I hope it is as you said, because if I can't find him here, I will have to look in another place!" Zuko turned towards his uncle and said with gritted teeth. Iroh merely hummed, his hands behind his back.

"You must learn to be patient, nephew. Trying to find the avatar itself is not an easy thing, much less capture him," Iroh said, parting his wisdom to Zuko, who merely groaned.

"Be patient? Well, I am very patient, aren't I?! I have been searching ever since my exile. If I have something, it's patience!" Zuko clapped back with anger.

"Patience doesn't always mean being able to wait or continue on a path. It can sometimes mean stopping to take a breath and looking over things that you passed by," Iroh said with a smile, and Zuko became silent.

"Whatever, today is the day I will capture the avatar. I don't need your words to be a distraction for me," Zuko said and then became silent for the rest of the time as the Ship hit the island.

Boom!

The soldiers lined up while a ledge was lowered to the floor from the Ship's side, and they immediately started to run onto the island, storming towards the village.

Zuko followed, jumping off the Ship and landing without any injury. Iroh followed, but he walked off the ledge calmly, not in a hurry, as he watched his nephew rush towards the village.

"Actually, I should follow him. He is reckless and brash, but I can't let anything happen to him, not like I did to him..." Iroh muttered, sadness in his gaze as he suddenly vanished, following Zuko.

He was still not over the death of his own son, and if he let Zuko die here, someone whom he came to see as a kind of son. Iroh doesn't know what he would do with himself.

Meanwhile...

Norrak opened his eyes as he felt the light of the sun shine through the window on the side of his wall. He looked down at Katara on his chest and smiled before shaking her awake.

"Let's get up and wash. I would also like to know what the island has in store for us. Maybe you can also learn the way these Kyoshi warriors fight," Norrak said, and Katara yawned as she nodded.

The two got up, and after Norrak washed their bodies from dirt and grime, they dressed. Norrak and Katara got up and walked towards the door, about to exit.

Bang!

Bang!

"Lord Norrak, and Lady Katara! Please, wake up! Our island is under attack!" A Kyoshi warrior shouted with a worried tone as she banged on the door. Norrak sighed, activating his Six Eyes.

His vision zoomed out, and a kilometre away from the village, he saw a group of Fire Nation soldiers and a nearly bald kid with a ponytail, along with red, burnt eyes, moving towards the town.

Behind them were three Kyoshi warriors lying on the ground, defeated by their force as they pushed past them. Norrak opened the door, and his figure turned into an afterimage.

Katara rushed past the Kyoshi warrior, her body blurring as she enhanced her body with Chi. Outside, Sokka and Suki, along with other Kyoshi warriors, were standing in front of the town.

Boom!

A fireball raced towards them, but Suki stepped forward and her fan cleaved through it. Though not without pain, as a flicker of flame hit her hand, causing it to turn red instantly.

"Ugh!" Suki groaned in pain, and Zuko stepped forward with a quick jab in the air. Sending a hurling fireball towards her again. Sokka stepped forward to push Suki out of the way, causing both to fall.

"Are you okay?" Sokka asked with a hint of worry, and Suki nodded before the two got up in haste. Zuko stepped forward, stopping the marching soldiers before speaking.

"I know the avatar is here, hand him over or I will burn this town to the ground!" Zuko said in a loud voice, causing Iroh to frown at the way he said those words.

"Nephew, you don't mean that, do you?" Iroh said in a whisper from behind Zuko, causing the boy to hesitate before he hardened his face. Zuko looked back towards the town and spoke again.

"Now, hand him over!" Seeing the choice his nephew made, Iroh sighed with disappointment and apprehension over his choice. But he also wasn't going to stop it.

Iroh might have changed from how he used to be in the past, but he was still a Fire Nation soldier who fought in wars, burned down innocent villages and killed innocent people.

Iroh was introduced as a wise uncle helping his nephew on his journey to hunt down Aang. This made him look innocent, but in reality, he was a warm criminal who committed atrocities.

Turning a new leaf and becoming a better version of yourself does not magically erase your malicious past and the horrible things you have done.

At the core, he was the same person. He just chose not to do the things he had done before.

"In your dream, you two-faced asshole! If you want the avatar. Then you'd better pass through me! Or you'd better stop if you don't want your ass handed to you by my minion!" Sokka screamed at Zuko, anger in his tone.

"Oh yeah? Who is that minion?" A voice suddenly came from behind Sokka, who started to sweat. He turned around and noticed Norrak standing behind him, twirling a strand of his white hair.

"N-Norrak! How good to see you here, I meant you will hand them their asses. Yeah, that's what I said," Sokka said, nodding his head wisely. Nortrak chuckled as he walked past Sokka.

Just then, Katara arrived from a distance, her blurred figure stopping next to Suki. Katara looked at her and noticed that her hand was burned. She took Suki's hand and, under her amazed eyes, healed her wound.

It was a slow recovery. Although it was only a superficial injury, it improved in seconds thanks to Katara's healing. She learned this technique from Norrak.

"So, you are the avatar that defeated Azula-"

"Shut the fuck up, and listen here, you half twit," Norrak interrupped with a cold stare. His chi gave him a cold feeling, and he walked towards Zuko. The soldiers were about to move when they froze in place.

"W-What! Impossible!" Iroh stared at this with shock, the soldiers frozen in place and floating in the air, off the ground, while Norrak had a hand in the air. He smirked, enjoying their wails of pain.

"You said you wanted the avatar?" Norrak asked.
