In a dark, empty alley, a spatial vortex suddenly appeared. A figure was thrown out from it, landing heavily on the ground.
"Ouch!" Yu Zhou sucked in a breath of cold air. "This way of traveling is too brutal. Just suck me in by force and then toss me out… what the hell."
Rubbing his sore backside, Yu Zhou stood up and walked out of the alley, looking around.
A main street. Roads, cars, and people passing by.
But he couldn't understand what the people were saying.
From simple words like "Chotto matte" and "Sumimasen," Yu Zhou realized they were speaking Japanese.
"So, this should be the world for my trial. In other words, a world with monsters and Ultramen."
"Judging from the environment, since everyone speaks Japanese, and Ultramen usually fight monsters in Japan, most likely a monster attack will happen here soon…"
Standing on the street, Yu Zhou touched his chin and thought.
"So my trial is to wait for monsters to appear and then destroy them?"
The more he thought, the more reasonable it seemed.
But at the moment, the biggest problem was—no money, no food, no place to stay.
"They pulled me over here before I even had breakfast. Really rushed." Yu Zhou complained as he walked along the street.
BOOM!!!
Just as he spoke, a deafening explosion came from not far away.
The noise made his head buzz. On the road and sidewalks, everyone turned to look at the source.
A strange giant beast slowly rose from the blast site.
It was covered in scales, with two separate chicken heads. It walked upright on two legs like a human, about fifty to sixty meters tall. Fireballs spewed from both mouths, destroying the once-peaceful city.
Panic broke out as people screamed and ran.
Yu Zhou couldn't understand. "This monster just came out to smash buildings? If you like demolition that much, why not join a demolition crew? You break stuff, I make money. You'd even help the world's GDP."
"Looks like it's my turn to show up…" Yu Zhou thought, hiding in an empty alley and pulling out the Spark Prism.
"First transformation should have some sense of ceremony."
He copied Daigo's transformation style from the original Ultraman Tiga.
"Ei! Hah! Hey!"
He raised the Spark Prism high, ready to press the button—
But suddenly, a bright light appeared in the sky, forming a huge infinity symbol, ∞.
From it, a silver and red Ultraman flew out!
"…Wait, I haven't even transformed yet, how did an Ultraman already show up?" Yu Zhou looked at the Spark Prism in his hand, then at the Ultraman fighting the monster.
"Mebius?"
He recognized the Ultraman as Mebius. As for stealing his chance to appear, Yu Zhou had nothing to say.
Fine, I'll just wait for the next monster. Protagonists usually show up last anyway.
With Mebius fighting, the destruction slowed down, though he also caused a fair share of damage himself.
"This chicken-headed monster looks tough." Yu Zhou observed.
The two heads could not only shoot fireballs but also orange and blue energy beams, both very powerful. After being hit, Mebius's chest timer began flashing.
"And why separate into orange and blue? The power looks about the same… maybe one head likes orange and the other likes blue? Or maybe the blue one had some hidden backstory…"
While Yu Zhou was rambling, Mebius launched his counterattack.
He knocked away fireballs with hand-chops, destroying more buildings but still turning the tide.
Then, crossing his arms, Mebius released his finisher.
Mebium Ray!
The beam, at 100,000 degrees, hit the monster, sending it crashing down with an explosion.
The surrounding residents watched their houses destroyed, tears in their eyes. Years of effort, gone in an instant.
Breathing heavily, Mebius turned his head, raised a thumbs-up toward a direction.
"Hm?" Yu Zhou noticed. "Is someone over there?"
But he couldn't see that far, so he gave up.
Just as everyone thought it was over, something unexpected happened.
A transparent barrier surrounded Mebius. In an instant, he was trapped in a glass-like cylinder.
Mebius's eyes showed confusion. He struck the walls hard, but they didn't move at all.
He tried everything, but the cylinder remained unshaken.
"What's going on?" Yu Zhou asked, completely confused.
Mebius too was bewildered.
The cylinder slowly rose into the air. White mist filled the inside.
Mebius struggled painfully, reaching for help—but no one could save him.
"Looks like it's finally my turn…" Yu Zhou said, lifting the Spark Prism again.
But before he pressed the button, another change came.
A swirl of black smoke descended, landing near Mebius's prison. From it, a humanoid figure appeared.
Its head had three bulb-like protrusions. Yellow eyes. A rough, jagged body, and something like a chest timer.
But most disturbing was its face—around its nose area grew a long, thick appendage.
"So gross. This monster looks so vulgar!" Yu Zhou stopped his transformation and complained.
"You've fallen into my trap, Ultraman Mebius! You'll die here!"
The monster spoke, but Yu Zhou couldn't understand—it was Japanese.
The white mist kept filling the cylinder, and Mebius eventually stopped struggling, turning into a bronze statue.
"Wait a second!" Yu Zhou suddenly realized. "Mebius turning into a statue… and this monster with the disgusting nose… I know this plot!"
Ultraman Mebius & the Ultra Brothers!
That movie told of a parallel world where there were no Ultramen or monsters, only human hosts. When monsters invaded, the hosts awakened to protect the world.
The chicken-headed monster earlier was Pandon, the first kaiju in that world.
And this grotesque creature wasn't just any monster—it was the Super Alien Hipporit!
"Super Alien Hipporit…" Yu Zhou muttered. "This alien is strong. That cylinder prison once turned all the Ultra Brothers into statues, just like Mebius now."
"Still, I prefer calling it the Geoduck Alien." Yu Zhou said, staring at the monster's obscene face.
