"Yu Zhou, that Strong Type of yours isn't bad at all. At first I thought you'd transformed by mistake, but it turns out you did it on purpose,"
Daigo—transformed as Ultraman Tiga—pointed at Yu Zhou's red-colored Tiga and said this in English after the Hipporit Seijin was defeated.
"Cough, cough…" Yu Zhou's Tiga gave two awkward coughs. His English was patchy at best, and he hadn't really understood what Daigo said. But judging from Daigo's gesture, it seemed like praise, which only made him more embarrassed.
The humans on the ground had giant question marks floating over their heads. Ultraman… coughing?
Just as the crowd was about to cheer their victory, countless eerie voices echoed from every direction.
"Fear! Fear!"
"Don't be happy—fear!"
"Don't rejoice—don't rejoice!"
"Fear! Fear!"
The sounds wrapped around their ears like demonic whispers. Panic spread quickly.
The unknown is the most terrifying.
Yu Zhou's Tiga and Daigo's Tiga both shot into the sky, scanning for the source of the voices.
Purple mist began to gather from every corner of the city. Within it appeared ghostly phantoms: the spirits of Silbagan and Goldras, the defeated King Pandun and King Gesura, and even the Hipporit Seijin himself.
Watching these monster-shaped spirits merge in the sky, Yu Zhou instantly recalled the original story—after Hipporit and the two monsters were defeated, their souls would fuse into a single final boss.
But the name of that boss? He honestly had no clue.
In the original timeline, if Yu Zhou hadn't interfered, Dyna and Gaia would have arrived to support Daigo's Tiga. But now, with Yu Zhou already transformed, those two didn't appear at all!
This was a headache. His original plan was simple: show up, contribute just enough to be noticed, then let Daigo, Asuka (Dyna), and Gamu (Gaia) form the Heisei Big Three, with him tagging along as a fourth. Four against three—he'd just reap the rewards.
But now? No Dyna, no Gaia. He and Daigo had to face what was clearly a final boss.
Damn it. At least I need to hold out until Moroboshi and the others transform. Gotta stall for time. Yu Zhou's Tiga set his jaw, eyes fixed on the coalescing black mist.
Daigo's Tiga, equally grim, prepared for battle.
"Yu Zhou, are you ready?" Daigo asked.
But there was no reply.
"Yu Zhou?" Daigo turned his head—only to be startled.
Yu Zhou's Tiga had already switched into Multi Type. His arms spread wide, light gathering between them into a white beam. Then, hands forming an L-shape, he fired straight at the dark mist.
"Zeperion Ray!"
"Daigo, what are you waiting for? Attack while it hasn't finished forming!" Yu Zhou shouted as the beam blasted forth.
His broken English wasn't perfect, but Daigo understood. Strike now, before the enemy fully fused.
Nodding, Daigo's Tiga also switched into Multi Type and unleashed a Zeperion Ray.
The two beams pierced into the swirling darkness. The attack didn't completely shatter it, but the black mass shrank noticeably.
"It's working!" Yu Zhou said, his voice bright with excitement.
"Daigo, follow me!" Yu Zhou gestured as the shrinking black mist floated higher, nearing completion. Without waiting, he flew toward the coastline.
If no Ultraman was going to appear… then he'd just go fetch one.
Daigo didn't quite understand, but followed nonetheless. Yu Zhou's quick decisions so far—destroying monsters instantly, attacking the mist early—had all been right.
At the seaside, Yu Zhou extended a hand toward Mebius's bronze statue. Energy surged from his palm into the Colour Timer on the statue's chest.
Daigo landed and immediately understood, channelling his own light into the same target.
Yu Zhou's reasoning was simple: in this parallel world, Ultraman energy didn't seem bound by time or stamina limits. His reserves were nearly full—plenty to awaken another warrior.
Two streams of light poured into the Colour Timer, and soon, Mebius's statue gleamed and returned to life.
Mebius blinked at the sight of not one, but two Tigas. He was momentarily dazed, but didn't dwell on it. With a respectful nod in Ultraman fashion, he turned his gaze skyward.
The fusion was complete.
A colossal monster emerged, towering five hundred meters tall and stretching seven hundred meters in length. Against it, even Ultramen looked like mere rodents.
Its design was grotesque—a patchwork abomination. Silbagan and Goldras's heads topped its shoulders. Their arms and torsos were grafted onto its body. Its core was the Super Hipporit Seijin. Its lower half bore the head of King Gesura, while its tail sprouted King Pandun's twin chicken heads.
And yes—even Hipporit's obscene proboscis remained, dangling obscenely at its waist.
The two Tigas and Mebius flew up to confront it.
"This is disgusting," Yu Zhou muttered, eyes lingering on the oversized proboscis.
Before they could act, two beams of light suddenly streaked across the sky, slamming into the monster's dual heads.
Boom! Boom!
Silbagan's and Goldras's heads roared in fury, clearly injured.
"What the—" Yu Zhou started.
But before he could finish, two familiar figures materialised beside them.
At last—Ultraman Dyna and Ultraman Gaia.
"Daigo, I'm here!"
"Daigo, me too!"
Both called out warmly.
Yu Zhou froze, then awkwardly pointed to the Tiga at his side. "Uh… you've got the wrong guy. He's over there."
"Hey! Asuka, Gamu—I'm right here!" Daigo's Tiga waved.
Dyna: "…"
Gaia: "…"
Daigo, however, felt only relief. After so long persuading Asuka and Gamu to awaken, at last, they had joined the fight.
"Enough talk. Focus on the battle!" Mebius interrupted, staring at the monstrosity before them. This was the true final boss.
The Ultras all exchanged nods of agreement. Yu Zhou didn't know why, but followed along. If everyone's nodding, I'll just nod too.
Now it was five against one. Would it be enough?
The abomination was already furious from Dyna and Gaia's opening strike. It retaliated first, unleashing a storm of high-frequency purple energy blasts.
"Decay Hell Laser!"
The barrage was overwhelming, dozens of beams raining down at once. It was the perfect wide-area attack to counter multiple Ultras.
And it worked. The five giants couldn't evade them all. One after another, they were struck, crashing hard to the ground.
But the assault didn't stop. The purple blasts intensified, slamming into the city below. Buildings crumbled, dust filled the air, and the Ultras struggled to rise.
The battle had only begun, and already the final boss held the advantage.
