Cane's POV
Finally, the day was over. I managed to get myself together and pull through the day. I didn't even wait for a second more, I took my keys and off I went.
I pushed open the front door and stepped into a house that felt too still. This was weird! Josh should be pulling down the house by now. And Jolina would have rushed out the moment she heard the door, shouting at the top of her voice. "Daddy's home!" But right now, there was no sign of life in here. No little feet running, nothing. Just quiet.
I dropped my keys on the table and frowned.
Where were the kids?
I walked straight to the kitchen, expecting to see Nancy or smell something cooking. But there was still nothing.
I was about to turn and leave the kitchen when my eyes caught a yellow sticky note on the fridge, right in the middle.
Took the kids out. Back later. – S
