Chapter 42 - Chapter 41

Footsteps approached Wang Sheng was lost in thought staring at Tang San's receding back.

Mo hen, one of the work-study students placed his hand on Wang Sheng's shoulder, waking him from his thoughts.

As Wang Sheng turned back to look at who was holding his shoulder, Mo Hen shook his head.

"It's ok Wang Sheng, we are still here for you. You don't have to be sad about what Tang San said, we will support you." said Mo Hen thinking Wang Sheng is feeling sad that his advice was taken wrongly.

The others nodded looking at him.

Wang Sheng felt a little embarrassed at being misunderstood but didn't say anything to explain himself in the end, feeling they wouldn't believe it.

He just hugged them and thanked them and started leaving to do their thing.

Watching all this Hanrui gave a faint smile.

"Brother, why are you smiling?" noticing his smile Xiao Wu asked, puzzled.

"It's nothing, I'm just thinking, Wang Sheng's character ain't bad, we should help him a little." Hanrui replied as he started walking ahead, Xiao Wu following behind him.

"Help him? Help him how?" Xiao Wu asked, not understanding what he meant.

"You will understand later." He said mysteriously.

Xiao Wu pouted but didn't say anything after that, knowing she wouldn't get an answer from her master if he didn't want to say it and silently walked back with him.

. . .

Yu Xiaogong opened the door to his quarters and entered inside along with Tang San who was waiting for his arrival at the side.

Yu Xiaogong sat behind his table and asked Tang San.

"Tang San, quick let me take a look at your 2nd Martial Soul."

Tang san gave him a nod as he stretched his left hand, where a hammer materialized on it.

Tang San felt the strain on his body and soul power as he held the hammer in place.

But unlike the previous time, while the strain is still there, it felt much lighter in comparison.

'Training myself to the bone really paid off. I wouldn't have been able to hold this hammer for long otherwise.' Tang San thought.

Seeing the hammer in Tang San's hand, Yu Xiaogong shot up to his feet from his seat suddenly, his eyes exuding extremely agitated light.

He stared at it with unblinking focus and murmured.

"Tang San, Tang San, surnamed Tang…"

'could it be? Is he my idol's son?' He thought.

"Ok Xiao san, put your Martial Soul away. You mustn't reveal this Martial Soul infront of other people. Unless you are in mortal danger.

Without my permission, hereafter you definitely should not attach soul rings to that martial soul. Remember this part well."

Tang San's eyes widened in surprise.

"My dad said the same thing. Teacher, why can't I add soul rings to this Martial soul?" Tang San asked curiously.

"What does your father do?" Yu Xiaogong asked back instead of answering his question directly.

"My father? He is a village blacksmith." Tang San replied.

"Blacksmith?"

The agitated light in Yu Xiaogong's eyes dimmed gradually.

'Was I mistaken? Or is he living in disguise?

But the details do match, a blacksmith and that hammer.' Yu Xiaogong thought.

"It's too early for you to know anything more. All you need to remember is not to add soul rings to that hammer.

It's for your future plan. Keep that firmly in your mind." Yu Xiaogong said.

Since even his teacher is saying the same thing as his father, Tang San's confidence in Yu Xiaogong increased as he replied.

"I understand, teacher."

"Tomorrow is the opening ceremony and the day after tomorrow the regular classes will start.

It's a pity, if you awakened with innate full soul power I would've let you skip it and taken you to get a soul ring, so you will officially become a soul master." Yu Xiaogong said with slight regret.

Tang San clenched his fists, he felt like he lost something important hearing those words, but couldn't understand what.

"Anyway, tell me, what if your opinion on your Martial Soul, Blue Silver Grass." Yu Xiaogong asked.

"Everyone says it's a useless Martial Soul, but everything in the world has its purpose, I believe even the most ordinary Blue Silver Grass has its own purpose." Tang San replied, shaking off the unease.

Yu Xiaogong, pleased, nodded and said.

"Not bad. Every Martial Soul has its characteristics. In my research, inferior martial souls constitute a very large portion.

I've always maintained a belief, 'there is no trash Martial Soul, only trash Soul Master.'

Since we still have time, let's talk about the path your martial soul growth should take."

(If Hanrui were to hear this he would scoff and say, "isn't it because you wanted to solve your martial soul issue?

Why do you make it sound like you are trying to solve world hunger?")

'No trash Martial Soul, only trash Soul Master? What a nice line. It's right of me to become his student, Wang Sheng, see what you berated?' Tang San scoffed, recalling Wang Sheng's earlier remarks.

"I'll give you the material to read and give me your opinion when you are done. You can leave for now." Yu Xiaogong continued not noticing his disciples inner drama.

Yu Xiaogong gave Tang San a book to read about the path that can be taken by Martial Soul's and motioned him to leave.

Tang San nodded seriously, hearing that and took the book and started heading back to the dorm.

"I look forward to your answer, Xiao San." He said before Tang San left.

Meanwhile in Hanrui's loving quarters.

"So, Wang Sheng. What do you say? Do you want to become my subordinate?" Hanrui said as he stared at a bewildered looking Wang Sheng infront of him.
