Chapter 6 - The Storm Tightens

Scene 1 – Hopper's Suspicion

Mike's Basement – the kids all seated, trying to look "normal."

Hopper's boots thud down the basement stairs. He squints at them, arms crossed.

Hopper: "Alright. Out with it. What the hell are you kids up to now?"Lucas: "Nothing! Just… y'know, hanging out. Cards. Dungeons & Dragons prep."Hopper (gruff): "Funny. Every time you're 'just hanging out,' monsters crawl out of holes and people disappear."

Mike's jaw tightens. He glances at the closet where Moon is hidden behind a pile of blankets.

Mike (firm): "We're not doing anything wrong."Hopper: "Then why do I feel like I'm being lied to?"

El looks down, silent, while Max fidgets nervously. Moon's eyes flicker faint violet in the dark, sensing the tension. The storm outside cracks thunder. Hopper notices the storm and narrows his eyes.

Hopper (low, warning): "If something's here… if she's here… and you're hiding it? I can't protect you from what comes next."

Before Moon can accidentally reveal herself, Max loudly knocks over a stack of games.

Max (forced laugh): "Oops! My bad. Super clumsy."

Hopper gives them all a long look before stomping back up the stairs.

Hopper (calling up): "This isn't over."

Scene 2 – Papa's Trap

Hawkins Lab – dim lights, men in suits typing at computers.

Papa watches storm patterns on a map—purple flashes across Hawkins.

Papa (cold, to his men): "She's growing stronger. Every minute she's free, she becomes less controllable. Surround the town. School, hospital, neighborhoods. No mistakes. She belongs to me."

Agents nod. Vans roll out in formation.

Scene 3 – Moon Opens Up

Basement, later that night.

The kids huddle around Moon, who now sits cross-legged, a blanket around her shoulders, pale and exhausted.

Moon (softly): "They called me… Subject Luna. Said the moon gave me power. They locked me away when storms got too strong. Said I was dangerous. Said I could rip holes between worlds if I lost control."

The kids glance at each other nervously.

Will (quiet, kind): "You're not dangerous. You're just… you."Dustin (excited): "Wait—if your powers are lunar-based, that means you're like a walking weather station crossed with a superhero! That's incredible!"Moon (shaking her head): "It's not incredible. It hurts. Every full moon feels like… like tearing apart inside."

Mike scoots closer, offering her a granola bar.

Mike (soft): "You're not alone anymore. We'll help you."

El's face hardens, jealousy flickering, but she doesn't speak. Max hands Moon a soda, trying to ease the tension.

Max: "Don't worry. These guys are used to freaky crap. You'll fit right in."

Moon's lips twitch into the smallest smile.

Scene 4 – Steve & Robin at Family Video

Steve lazily stocks tapes while Robin flips through a magazine.

Robin: "So… another supernatural girl, huh?"Steve (sighing): "Yeah. Like my life wasn't already upside down."Robin (grinning): "You like her."Steve (choking): "What?! No. Maybe. Shut up."Robin: "I knew it. You've got a type: badass girls who could throw you across the room."Steve (pointing at her): "Not funny."Robin (teasing): "Very funny."

Despite the banter, Steve looks genuinely worried.

Steve (serious now): "Robin… she looked scared. Like… the same way the kids looked when the Demogorgon came. I don't care what she is. I just don't want them hurt again."

Scene 5 – Nancy & Jonathan Investigate

Nancy and Jonathan sneak into a restricted hospital archive, flashlights in hand.

Jonathan (whispering): "Are you sure this is worth the risk?"Nancy (focused): "If Moon's tied to all this, we need to know how."

They find a file labeled Subject Luna. Sketches of Moon's violet eyes. Notes: "Power spikes during lunar cycle. Capable of generating rifts without machinery. Highly unstable."

Jonathan (reading): "She can open the gate… faster than El."Nancy (grim): "That's why they want her. Not just to control her… to use her."

Scene 6 – Moon's Power Breaks Loose

Back at Mike's house, late night. The storm rages harder. Power flickers out. The kids scream as thunder shakes the walls.

Moon clutches her head, eyes blazing violet.

Moon (panicked): "I can't… stop it!"Mike (grabbing her hands): "Yes, you can! Look at me! You're not a monster!"

Lightning cracks across Hawkins, striking transformers. Purple light glows in the clouds.

Suddenly—sirens. Bright headlights outside. Vans screech

to a halt outside the Wheeler house, floodlights cutting through the rain. The hum of engines and the slam of car doors echo over the storm.

Lucas (panicked): "They found us!"Dustin: "No, no, no, this is bad—this is really bad!"

Moon's violet eyes flare brighter. Wind whips around the basement like a miniature tornado, papers flying.

El (raising her hand, defensive): "Stop! You'll hurt them!"Moon (teeth clenched, voice cracking): "I'm not… trying to!"

Mike grabs Moon's shoulders, forcing her to focus on him.

Mike (urgent, steady): "Listen to me. You're not alone anymore. You're with us. With me. Just breathe."

Moon's breathing slows, the storm easing just enough for them to hear heavy boots stomping on the porch.

BAM BAM BAM. A fist pounds on the front door.

Agent voice (muffled): "This is Hawkins National Laboratory. Open the door!"

The kids freeze. Max clutches Will's arm. El's eyes dart toward the closet where Moon crouches, trembling.

Mike looks around at the others, then back at Moon.

Mike (whispering): "Hide. No matter what happens, don't make a sound."

Scene 7 – The Basement Showdown

Footsteps creak upstairs. Voices murmur. Hopper's voice cuts through the storm.

Hopper (angry, muffled): "Get the hell out of this house!"

The kids look at each other, shocked. Hopper is arguing with Papa's men.

Papa's voice (calm, muffled): "Sheriff. This is beyond you. Hand her over."

Lightning flashes outside, illuminating Papa's pale face through the window. His eyes are cold, calculating.

Papa: "She belongs to me."

Moon trembles harder in the basement, clutching her head as thunder rattles the walls.

Moon (whispering, broken): "He'll never stop…"

Scene 8 – Cliffhanger

The storm surges. Violet lightning splits the sky, striking so close the house shakes. The lights go out completely.

The kids huddle together in the dark. Only the faint purple glow from Moon's eyes lights the basement.

Will (whispering, terrified): "What do we do?"Mike (grim): "We fight."

The chapter ends as the Wheeler house is surrounded, the storm outside reaching apocalyptic strength, and Papa's men prepare to storm in.
