'What am i supposed to do?!?'
When i came here to this world and was sent to this house, i didn't expect for someone to actually help me.
Well, that was a good thing but still.
'How did she do that.'
I somewhat figured out myself that i didn't have a body and was just the remnant left behind.
What gnawed at my mind was how did she do that.
The woman wearing white robes.
She looked no more older than me yet her every move was as if she was way older than i thought.
The weird gestures she made with her hands as i was being pulled into the dead body was something else entirely.
Although they seemed simple, i could notice a small glint of light on it's surface. Between her fingers were tiny threads that spread themselfes around the room.
'was that magic?'
I would have to ask her that.
For now my priority was to figure out how to use the body i was given.
I was scared at first after seeing it from up close thinking that someone was killed and i had to take their place.
But now that i was inside, my doubts have vanished.
I was standing in some sort of ruins that looked old and unfinished.
My body havent changed at all but i could sense something that simply made this place mechanical.
'i wonder, how can i finally go back to the world of the living.'
If this was the 'vessel' that i needed to use, then i needed to figure put how to use it.
Walking through the crumbled walls and pillars i couldn't help but wonder just how old this body is.
It could have been specially made to look old but my hunch just told me otherwise.
Or maybe i believed that the dust and spiderwebs are a sign of something old.
When i turned around a corner, i noticed some sort of weird structure.
Unlike the rest of it, the thing seemed to be well kept and still functional as a faint green glow was spreading down its edges.
It was some sort of podium like in the movies where you can write a password and then dozens of levitating screens appear with usefull information.
'imagine it's just like it.'
No, i shouldn't think that id be given everything so easily.
Atleast not at this moment.
I walked up to it carefully while waiting for any reaction which never came.
Now that took a closer look, it did look exactly like the ones from the movies.
It had some buttons although kind of ancient, and a small hole that was the size of a finger.
'wait, maybe my finger?'
Maybe i had to insert my finger to registrate as the bodies owner or it was simply a hole for a big key which i did not have.
So the decision was simple, i just had to put the finger and pray something happens.
I decided to put the finger that was closest to the symbol which i was imprinted with.
It made the most sense to me but it was also a little problematic as the mark still appeared blurry for some reason.
The podium didnt react at all, i felt something at the tip of my finger but that was it.
No screens, no magic.
'I guess i should keep looking.'
If i couldn't access it now, then there must be some sort of key around here.
If its the size of a finger then i wouldn't really have to try much, although it's condition is the other thing.
Turning around and walking away from the podium i was ready to leave as i heard a small sound of static coming from above.
Curiously, i looked up in case something was there.
It was the same dark ceiling that seemed as though it was about to collapse but something felt different, like the atmosphere changed or...
'Somethings here!'
Just as i came to a conclusion, the ceiling slowly opened up, revealing some sort of big panel.
It had a blue glow in contrast to the pale green one from the podium but the intensity was way different too.
'Its so damn bright.'
"User ID required, please state your name."
An almost robotic like voice appeared out of nowhere.
'wait isn't that?'
Could this be the system which god told me to listen to?
I didn't expect it to be a literal system like in a computer or something.
'so state my name huh.'
- Vlad.
.
.
'Uh, is this not working.'
Maybe the device really was too old just like the ruins that surrounded it-
"User ID unregistered, preparing merging procedure. Do you consent? Yes/No."
'it really is just like a computer.'
The merging procedure would most likely make me the owner pf this body so why shouldn't i accept this.
"Yes."
Waiting awkwardly for it's next reply i couldn't help but wonder if i would ever have my own body again.
My hands which were weak and used only for either games or minimum wage jobs.
My body which would probably crumble if i lifted up something over 40kg.
And my face that barely held any resemblance to the one i would get.
'i wonder if im going to miss it.'
Probably not.
The voice hasn't spoke again but the symbol engraved on my hand has started to glow a a shade of eerie red that reminded me of blood.
'yuck'
My body slowly started to disintegrate turning into small pixel like particles.
'they made it to look like some sort of game.'
That was my last thought as my whole body dissapeared leaving the ruins empty yet again.
...
My eyes snapped open.
There was an unfamiliar ceiling.
I slowly stood up feeling extremely sore in any place i could imagine.
'did it work?'
I looked around to see the very same room of the body i was in.
It seemed to be a simple bedroom with some bookshelfs, a desk and the bed i sat on.
The air was a little suffocating as the dust covered every corner of this room.
'just how old is this place.'
Going off the bed i noticed that my body was way better than my last one.
I felt great.
Looking down i saw the muscles which i only dreamt of and flexed a little jokingly.
'thats so dumb'
I quickly got embarassed though as i went back to checking what my new body had.
The hair color was nice but i didn't really like to stand out so that's a problem.
I couldn't really see my eyes but i definetly caught a glimps of them being yellow so thats weird too.
I never saw anyone with yellow eyes.
'That would just make me stand out More!'
I didn't really like it.
'?'
At the corner of my eye i noticed something written on the door frame.
They were worn out but i could make them out somehow which was probably another feature of my new body.
They were some old marks for measuring height probably made by a family that lived here.
'It Is really old'
Seeing that everything was alright with me and that some of my aspects had become considerably better, i decided to go out of the room.
'wait.'
I remembered the woman who had brought my soul into this body and looked down at myself.
'i should probably wear something'
I couldn't simply walk out without any clothes on, what if i was mistaken for a pervert, and i myself wouldn't be comfortable.
There were some clothes laying next to the bed which i put on without hesitation, they were a simple t-shirt and some shorts.
'thats better'
With my now clothed body, i went out of the room.
