HARPER
The shrill cry of my phone dragged me out of sleep. I groaned, blindly patting around for it without opening my eyes or even bothering to lift my head.
Dominic's arm tightened around my waist, pulling me closer against his chest, making it nearly impossible to reach the vibrating phone on the nightstand.
"Don't answer it," he rasped, his voice thick with sleep as he breathed into my hair.
"Right," I whispered, even though we both knew that the ringtone would wake the entire house if it didn't stop soon. It was worse than an alarm.
The buzzing finally cut off. I exhaled in relief, only for it to start again a second later.
"Let me," I muttered, already irritated by the persistence.
It was five in the damn morning. Who in their right mind called at this hour?
Dominic groaned in protest, but I managed to wriggle free from his grasp and snatched the phone from the nightstand. I didn't even bother checking the caller ID before answering.
