Chapter 118 - Chapter 118. Traptrix’s Hellish Disruption vs. HERO! Kuriboh Pulls Off Another Huge Carry!

Chapter 118. Traptrix's Hellish Disruption vs. HERO! Kuriboh Pulls Off Another Huge Carry!

The first three players' setups had all finished.

While every Duel World was curious about the Traptrix engine, they also turned their eyes to the last to act—the Blue-side HERO player D.

In the short video, the turn passed to Blue-side HERO player D.

Blue-side HERO player D: "My turn! Draw!"

Blue-side HERO player D: "I Normal Summon Elemental HERO Stratos.

Its effect adds Vision HERO Faris to my hand."

Blue-side HERO player D: "I discard Vision HERO Vyon to Special Summon Faris, then pull Vision HERO Increase from the Deck."

"Vision HERO Increase tributes Faris to Special Summon itself, then pulls a second Vision HERO Vyon from the Deck."

"Vision HERO Vyon sends Destiny HERO – Malicious from the Deck to the Graveyard, then I banish Faris to add Polymerization."

"I Link Summon using Vyon and Increase to make the Link-2 Xtra HERO Cross Crusader."

"Xtra HERO Cross Crusader's effect Special Summons Destiny HERO – Malicious from the Graveyard."

"I tribute Malicious to add Destiny HERO – Denier from the Deck."

"I activate Destiny HERO – Malicious in the Graveyard, banish it, and Special Summon my second Malicious from the Deck."

"I activate Polymerization."

"I Fusion Summon Destiny HERO – Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer using the Malicious on my field and Destiny HERO – Denier from my hand."

"Next, I activate Denier in the Graveyard to Special Summon itself and return the banished Malicious to the Deck."

"I Link Summon Xtra HERO Wonder Driver using Denier and Cross Crusader."

"Destiny HERO – Malicious in the Graveyard activates again—banish it to Special Summon another Malicious to the zone Wonder Driver points to."

"I trigger Wonder Driver to recover Polymerization from the Graveyard."

"I activate Polymerization again."

"I Fusion Summon Wake Up Your Elemental HERO using Elemental HERO Stratos on the field and Destiny HERO – Malicious."

On the field, the HERO player's lines were executing smoothly.

The earlier breakdown of the HERO line all came flooding back into the duelists' minds across the worlds.

Seeing HERO explode again, many couldn't help but feel moved.

So this is a true combo deck.

Once it gets moving, resource routing, resource utilization, and resource explosion all reach unbelievable heights.

That's a HERO player for you.

But something feels off.

Why did it suddenly stop?

Could it be…?

Jaden Yuki, Aster Phoenix, and Yugi Muto's pupils shrank.

A single card flashed through their minds.

This sudden pause in timing felt familiar.

Player C (Red side, Traptrix): "So strong! Way too strong! So cool!"

Player C (Red side, Traptrix): "I activate Nibiru, the Primal Being from my hand.

I tribute all monsters on the field."

"And I'll give you this big Primal Being Token."

Blue-side HERO player D: "I see! Chain Link 2, I activate Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer."

Player C (Red side, Traptrix): "Then I flip Infinite Impermanence—Chain Link 3 to negate your Phoenix."

"Alright, resolution complete."

"This Primal Being Token with 10,200 ATK will be your HERO end board."

Blue-side HERO player D: "You… you gotta be kidding me!"

Blue-side HERO player D: "…My turn ends."

Stopped dead.

Just stopped.

After getting eaten by the big rock, the HERO player was numb.

All those painstaking resources turned to nothing in an instant.

Forget extending.

Even Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer, which could have escaped, couldn't revive because it was tributed and sent to the Graveyard.

The old guard across the worlds all twitched at the mouth.

This was when they realized that, aside from Maxx "C" and Ash Blossom, Nibiru, the Primal Being is also a brutally effective hand trap against combo lines.

With no resources, even HEROs can't extend and are basically done.

In Duel Academy of the GX world, Jaden Yuki and Aster Phoenix stood petrified.

A meteorite.

That gross meteorite again.

Did the HERO combo just combo itself into making an "Elemental HERO Primal Being Token"?

"Man, this Traptrix deck has a lot of disruption."

"It can go forward with back-row interruption."

"And if it needs to, it can disrupt from the hand."

"I'm starting to think Blue side is in trouble here."

Atticus Rhodes stroked his chin, calmly analyzing.

And he wasn't wrong.

One side is a casual Kuriboh deck, the other is HEROs that just ate Nibiru.

Both Blue-side players' resources were about to be shredded.

No way they don't lose this match—so he thought.

In the short video, the turn moved to Player A (Blackwing).

Player A (Blackwing): "My turn. Draw one card."

Player A (Blackwing): "I end my turn."

Blasted by Kuriboh earlier, Blackwing could only draw and pass.

But oddly, he didn't switch his 3,000 ATK Primal Being Token to Defense.

What's this?

Is he just ignoring the opponent's 10,200 ATK Primal Being Token?

Or is this… a trap?

Player B (Blue side, casual): "My turn. Draw one card."

Player B (Blue side, casual): "I switch the Primal Being Token to Attack Position and attack directly."

Player A (Blackwing): "I flip Mirror Force."

Player A (Blackwing): "Destroy your Token."

Player B (Blue side, casual): "So it was Mirror Force. Doesn't matter."

Player B (Blue side, casual): "I end my turn."

As expected.

One Mirror Force and the Token was done for.

Blue side's disadvantage widened further after that sequence.

And the next turn passed to Player C (Red side, Traptrix).

Player C (Red side, Traptrix): "My turn again. Draw."

Player C (Red side, Traptrix): "Only one of your three sets remains?"

"No problem, I'll refill right away."

"I Normal Summon Traptrix Mantis."

"I use its effect to add Traptrix Genlisea from my Deck."

"I use Mantis as the single material to Link Summon Traptrix Sera."

"I activate Traptrix Genlisea in my hand to Special Summon it."

"I trigger Sera to Set Traptrix Holeutea from my Deck."

"I enter the Battle Phase."

"Traptrix Sera attacks you directly. Lose 800 LP."

"Then the 3,000 ATK Token attacks directly. Feels good, right?"

"I end my turn."

Blue-side HERO player D: "My turn. Draw."

Blue-side HERO player D: "I activate Neos Fusion."

"I send Elemental HERO Neos and Rainbow Dragon from my Deck to the Graveyard."

"I Fusion Summon Rainbow Neos."

Player C (Red side, Traptrix): "So strong! I flip my set."

Player C (Red side, Traptrix): "It's Time-Space Trap Hole."

"When your opponent Special Summons a monster or monsters from the hand or Extra Deck, return those monsters to the Deck."

"After that, I lose LP equal to the number returned × 1000."

"At the same time, Sera triggers to Special Summon Traptrix Dionaea from the Deck."

"Traptrix Dionaea activates to Set Time-Space Trap Hole from my Graveyard again."

"And that triggers Sera again to Set Bottomless Trap Hole from my Deck."

"Great, I've refilled my back row."

"I told you, I can roll this snowball slowly but surely."

"Please continue."

Everyone was dumbfounded.

The back-and-forth between Traptrix and the HERO player—

Just those few exchanges and interruptions made the old guard's emotions swing like a roller coaster.

Neos Fusion.

A single card pulled out Rainbow Neos with 4500 ATK.

Its effects could even disrupt monsters, Spells/Traps, and sometimes the Graveyard.

Seeing that, everyone thought Blue side was standing up again.

The HERO player was about to pop off.

But the next second, a single Time-Space Trap Hole made Rainbow Neos fizzle.

That instantly silenced GX's Jaden Yuki and Jesse Anderson, who had been excited.

"Damn! Our ace Fusion finally shows up—"

"—and it gets shut down just like that? I'm sick."

"This Traptrix deck is so disgusting."

Jesse Anderson couldn't hold back his emotions.

Beside him, Jaden had mixed feelings.

Before watching this clip, he thought it would be the Blackwing show.

When HERO started exploding, he thought it would be the HERO show.

Now that Traptrix was in play, he couldn't help but think—

Is this actually the Traptrix show?

First the big rock, and now Time-Space Trap Hole.

The HERO player can't get anything going.

And indeed—

Blue-side HERO player D: "I Set one monster."

Blue-side HERO player D: "I end my turn."

Player A (Blackwing): "My turn. Draw."

Player A (Blackwing): "I switch all my Defense Position monsters to Attack Position."

"I go to the Battle Phase."

"The Token destroys your Set Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier."

"Traptrix Dionaea attacks directly. Lose 1700 LP."

"Traptrix Genlisea attacks directly. Lose 1300 LP."

"Traptrix Sera attacks directly. Lose 800 LP."

"I end my turn."

"Because of Traptrix Dionaea's self-imposed clause, Time-Space Trap Hole is banished."

At this moment, Life Points continued to diverge.

Red side: 1400 LP.

Blue side: 5600 LP.

Red side's LP loss was mostly self-inflicted by their own card effects.

Blue side, however, was starting to feel the pain.

Even though the earlier Kuriboh showcase had crippled Blackwing so hard that it still couldn't move, Blue side had no resources to leverage, either.

The advantage remained with Red side.

But who could have imagined—

The Kuriboh player still had a bag full of tricks.

The turn passed to the Kuriboh pilot.

Amid everyone's anticipation, the antics began.

Player B (Blue side, casual): "My turn. Draw."

Player B (Blue side, casual): "Heh heh heh. Time for fun."

"I activate Trickstar Corobane in my hand to Special Summon it."

"I then activate Five Star Twilight."

"Effect on. I tribute Corobane and Special Summon from my Deck—"

"Kuriboh. Kuriboo. Kuribeh. Kuribee. Kuribah."

A full lineup of 300-ATK Kuribohs filled the Monster Zones.

Because their ATK was too low, Bottomless Trap Hole couldn't be used.

Player B (Blue side, casual): "I Xyz Summon Kikinagashi Fucho using Kuriboh and Kuriboo in Defense Position."

Player B (Blue side, casual): "I use the remaining three as materials to Xyz Summon Lyrilusc – Assembled Nightingale."

"This card gains ATK equal to its materials × 200, so Assembled Nightingale is 600 ATK."

"It can attack directly, and with materials, it can attack up to that many times in one Battle Phase."

"I enter the Battle Phase."

"Lyrilusc – Assembled Nightingale, first direct hit—600 LP."

"Second hit—600 LP."

"Third hit—600 LP."

"Your LP is down to 12,200."

"My Main Phase 2."

"Lyrilusc – Assembled Nightingale ranks up into Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS – Sky Thunder."

Player A (Blackwing): "I flip my teammate's set Bottomless Trap Hole."

Player B (Blue side, casual): "I chain ZEUS. Detach to send every other card on the field to the Graveyard."

Player A (Blackwing): "Your ZEUS still gets banished."

Player B (Blue side, casual): "Doesn't matter—Kikinagashi Fucho is fully unaffected."

Player B (Blue side, casual): "My teammate and I still have resources."

Player B (Blue side, casual): "I end my turn."

A big play.

Another massive play that left duelists across the six worlds slack-jawed.

The old guard stared, dumbfounded, as one card pulled out five Kuriboh monsters.

What shocked them even more were the two Xyz that came out of those Kuribohs.

One was Kikinagashi Fucho—0 ATK/0 DEF, yet completely unaffected by other cards' effects.

If not for ZEUS's effect, many wouldn't even have noticed it.

The second was Lyrilusc – Assembled Nightingale.

It turned three pings to the face into Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS – Sky Thunder, shaving down the opponent's LP while also sweeping the board with ZEUS.

With that, the advantage clearly swung back to Blue side thanks to ZEUS.

After all, Blue side still had a fully unaffected 0/0 Kikinagashi Fucho on board.

Their opponents had been wiped clean.

At the same time, the chat was losing it over this Kuriboh showcase.

Skye Zaizen: "That Trickstar that popped out scared me! I thought he was switching decks mid-match! But he stayed true—still Kuriboh."

Yugi Muto: "What the—Kuriboh can do all this? How did I not know? And what are these other Kuribohs?"

Jaden Yuki: "Whew, this casual player keeps coming up with lines that amaze me. That direct-attacking Xyz worries me a bit, though."

Yusei Fudo: "Right. He knew ZEUS would get hit by Bottomless, but still made it—clearly planning to create advantage while leaving Fucho to soak the aftermath."

Yusaku Fujiki: "Teammates like this are rare. Every clear keeps his ally in mind—because after his turn, it's Traptrix's turn again."

The chat kept praising the casual player's line.

The more they discussed it, the more they realized how amazing this casual player was.

He didn't hesitate to spend everything to buy advantage for his teammate.

And he still remembered to put up a Fucho to absorb follow-up damage.

That Fucho was unbelievably clutch.

I'm crying, really.

On Red side, their resources had been dumped by ZEUS.

Both the Blackwing player and the Traptrix player wore dark faces.

They never imagined their two decks would get worked like this by a casual Kuriboh pilot.
