Hana walked slowly, heading to the lot.
And there he was.
Kai leaned against a sleek black sports car, one hand buried in his pocket, the other scrolling lazily through his phone. He looked effortless, like he'd just stepped out of a magazine spread.
Her steps faltered. Almost without thinking, she raised her camera. Click. Click. Click. The shutter echoed like her heartbeat.
Beside her, Minji whispered, "Wow… that's a really nice car."
At the sound, Kai lifted his head. His gaze found Hana instantly, and that familiar smile curved his lips. "Hi, Hana."
Her chest tightened. She tried for casual, but her smile came out softer than intended. "Hi, Kai."
"Brother-in-law!" Nari burst out with zero shame.
Hana nearly dropped dead on the spot. "Nari—!"
But Kai only turned politely, unfazed. "Hi, Nari. How are you?"
"I'm fine, brother-in-law," Nari chirped, grinning wide.
His gaze shifted smoothly. "And you?"
Minji stumbled forward. "I'm Minji. Hana's friend. Roommate."
"Nice to meet you." His tone was warm, courteous. Then, with absolute calm, he dropped the bomb:
"I'm Kai. Hana's husband."
Hana choked, coughing as her face went crimson. "Kai—!"
He only gave her a knowing smile. "Shall we get going?"
