After taking Froakie, and promising to be in frequent contact with Professor Sycamore, Gary left for Viridian City, Kanto.
Now is the time for some training and see if he can catch some good Pokemons in the Viridian Forest.
After another long hours of flight, he finally arrived back in Kanto.
And he has noticed that he didn't get tired this time. Is it because of Ninja training?
Just as he was about to reach the Viridian Forest from where it is close to the Pokemon Centre, he encountered Ash and Misty.
And Pikachu was on Ash's shoulder.
"Gary! What Pokemon did you choose!? Let's have a battle!"
"Alright. Just don't cry after you lose."
"I won't —"
"I doubt you won't cry."
"I said, I wouldn't loose!"
"So you will cry?"
"I won't lose, so why would I cry?"
"How should I know? The person crying in question is you. Shouldn't you know?"
"Huh? You are right—"
Gary and Misty both sighed. It's honestly surprising how dumb Ash is.
He just took out his Pokeball.
"Don't waste my time. Let's get over with this."
"Alright! Pikachu, I choose you!"
"Pika!"
"You should never send out your Pokemon first."
"Stop lecturing me!"
"Well, don't say that I never taught you the ropes. Joltik, I choose you!"
"Joltik!"
"Huh? What's this Pokemon?"
"AHHHHHHH! A bug!"
Misty screamed in terror upon seeing a bug, but Gary and Ash ignored her, focusing on the battle.
Ash used his Pokedex, but it said, "Pokemon not found."
"Huh!?"
"Alright, let's begin."
"Alright!"
"Joltik, String shot and then dodge!"
"Pikachu, Thunder Shock!"
Pikachu is faster than Joltik.
Even if Joltik can't dodge Thunder Shock, he will only take half damage, while Pikachu will take full damage AND get restrained.
Both attacks hit each other.
"Pika!"
"Joltik!"
But Pikachu was now restrained. And Joltik could still move.
"Now, latch on Pikachu and use Leech Life!"
Joltik is so small that it can't produce his own electricity. So it attaches to bigger Pokemons to absorb their electricity.
And Leech Life is a Bug type move which restores Joltik's health and damages the Pokemon which is being attacked.
Joltik hopped on a struggling Pikachu.
"Pika!"
Joltik bit Pikachu and started draining him.
"Pikachu no! Shake him off! Bite the web!"
But Pikachu was captured by String Shot, and biting didn't do much.
Pikachu got knocked down!
"Joltik, good job. Now return."
"Joltik!"
Joltik was happy by defeating his opponent and munching on some good health and electricity.
"Ughhh! Pikachu!"
Ash started trying to release Pikachu.
Gary decided to just leave without saying anything.
As he wandered in the forest, he thought of a problem.
'Come to think of it, I wonder how Peter is doing? And, since he has Joltik's powers, will he evolve and get extra limbs too?'
Just thinking about the possibility, Gary sighed in pity.
Peter really got the short end of the stick.
"Alright, Froakie, Charmander and Joltik, come out. It's time to train."
"Froakie!"
"Char!"
"Joltik!"
Now, it's time to put his ninja skills to test.
