{Many hours later}

"You don't look nervous," Principal Weems spoke, causing Ash, who was looking out the window of a limo that was driving them, to turn slightly. "I mean, not that you should; it's just fascinating knowing your story." Ash frowned as he heard her.

'What does she mean by story?' he thought, now fully focused on what she had to say.

"You know… You being captured in a lab and stuff," she said, causing his frown to deepen.

Ash looked at her for a moment, pondering her words.

He faked a smile, forced an awkward giggle, then looked away, directing his eyes back to the window.

Principal Weems ignored his antics, smiling as she saw his actions.

"Nevermore is not just a school," she continued, staring directly at him even though he still looked away. "It's a place where students from all over the world go in hopes of discovering themselves." She turned to the window, which was closer to where she was seated. "A home away from home," she said, "a place where everyone doesn't need to be driven by the pressure of expectation."

She turned her eyes back to Ash, only to discover that his eyes were now staring directly at hers.

She smiled, noting his gaze, the intensity with which his eyes kept staring.

"It's a place that makes it easier for outcasts like ourselves to finally understand that we aren't as different from anyone else," she finished, moving her head backward and resting on the seat. "That we aren't that different from 'human'."

Then she drifted to sleep, the journey proving too tiresome even for her to stay awake.

Yet Ash's gaze remained stationary, not moving from her in the slightest.

His mind, as though completely oblivious to her earlier words, could only think of one thing.

'She's kinda hot.'

{Elsewhere}

Seated in a dark room, constrained from light.

"Do you think he will be all right?" Jessica asked, her hands folding up some clothing, neatly packing them into a suitcase.

"Not sure," replied Grandma Frump. "He might mess everything up."

"Why?" Jessica turned her eyes to her. "You don't think he will fit in?" She asked, but Grandma Frump shook her head, taking another sip from the pure black coffee.

"He hides too much," she said, softly sighing. "He's a pretender." Jessica frowned when she heard her words. "He hides his true feelings behind false pretence, which is smart since he's really good at acting it."

Her words caused Jessica's confusion to deepen.

"But he underdoes the caring part," she continued. "He didn't care when he saw his friend die; he didn't care when I told him of his other friends' passing. He only shrugged it off, not bothering to even bring it up anymore." She giggled as she went on. "Do you know what he said to me when I asked him how he felt that all of his friends were dead?"

Jessica shook her head, brows raised in wonder.

"He said he envies them." She laughed when she said it. "Now isn't that awfully beautiful?" Her giggles continued.

Jessica couldn't help but smile because, in truth, his response amused her to the fullest.

"He acts like he cares when he truthfully doesn't," she said, standing up, then walking toward Jessica's figure. Moving to the bag, she zipped it tight. "He's trying to lie to himself," she finally said, her voice now sounding serious. "He's trying to be normal. But he knows that deep down, right below his dark black heart, he's far from it."

She carried her bag, placing it on the floor, then nodding her head as Jessica moved closer to pull it.

"He won't stay in that school forever. He is bound to do something wrong," She started walking to the door, preparing to leave. "I just wonder what he will do when it finally happens. Will he simply give in, ruining a plan made to save him? Or will he do something truly… beautiful?"

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Are you sure you don't want me to show you around?" Weems asked, eyes staring at Ash as he exited the door, pulling his black suitcase behind him. "I could ask your roommate to do it instead, he will…"

"Na," Ash shook his head, interrupting her words with an uncontrollable smile. This was the first time he had ever seen so many girls in his life. "I'm good with directions."

He shut the door, not bothering to care about the sentence he had interrupted.

The car drove off, its interior fuelled with the sigh of a white-haired principal.

Ash's eyes turned to his surroundings.

Immediately noticed how the colour of his clothes stood out.

He wasn't wearing a uniform, so his clothes were fully black.

Some girls passed by, staring at him intensely.

His expression brightened as he waved his hand, unexpectedly causing them to blush in reaction.

"Shit," he said on instinct, his voice suddenly giggling, loud enough for all those who were standing near to be instantly weirded out.

'Heaven,' he thought in a frenzy, 'Heaven actually exists.'
