Chapter 148 - Chapter 148: The Moon Temple's Portal

"The Kaldorei Empire has been established for thousands of years; we enjoy long lifespans and should have entered a civilized society."

Gale said in a deep voice, "Now is the time for judgment. Regardless of what crime this prisoner has committed, we should remain rational before the judgment is complete."

The Kaldorei quieted down, feeling that Gale made sense.

Gale saw Broxigar Saurfang being escorted to the tribunal. "This prisoner does not understand Thalassian. For the sake of a fair trial, I will cast Arcane Wisdom on him before the trial. Does anyone object to this resolution?"

The Kaldorei discussed amongst themselves, but many felt that Gale's proposal was correct. If there was to be a trial, it had to be fair, and allowing the prisoner to express his opinion was an important part of maintaining fairness.

"Since no one objects, this resolution passes."

Gale raised his hand and cast Arcane Wisdom on Broxigar Saurfang.

Broxigar Saurfang looked around in astonishment; he could suddenly understand what these elves were saying.

Gale: "Prisoner, you can now communicate with us normally. Now, tell me your name."

Broxigar Saurfang felt it was magical. He had previously struggled with not being able to communicate with these elves. Now that he could understand their words, he immediately said, "My name is Broxigar Saurfang. I am an orc. I don't know why you are hostile towards me. Aren't you afraid of starting a war between elves and orcs?"

Broxigar Saurfang's words greatly displeased the Kaldorei. "Orcs, what kind of race is that? How dare they wage war against us?"

"Are you threatening us, monster?"

Gale waved his hand, "Silence!"

He looked at Broxigar Saurfang, "Broxigar, I don't know what race orcs are, but since you have appeared in the territory of the Kaldorei Empire, you must abide by the laws of the Kaldorei Empire. No one dares to challenge the Kaldorei Empire, not the trolls, and not you orcs either."

Kaldorei Empire?

Broxigar Saurfang tilted his head in thought; he had never heard of this empire's existence. Could there be another elven power on the continent of Kalimdor?

He cautiously asked, "Who is your leader? Is it High Priestess Tyrande?"

The Kaldorei looked at Broxigar Saurfang amusedly. "This orc is so ignorant, he doesn't even know Queen Azshara."

"Who is Tyrande? When did she become our leader?"

The Kaldorei who knew Tyrande looked at her in confusion, and Tyrande herself was stunned.

"You know me?"

Broxigar Saurfang was also stunned. "You are High Priestess Tyrande?"

Gale, fearing Broxigar Saurfang might reveal too many secrets, interjected before Tyrande could speak, "That's right, this is High Priestess Tyrande. I don't know if she is the High Priestess Tyrande you mentioned."

Broxigar Saurfang looked at Tyrande in confusion. This female elf was very different from the Tyrande in his memory, seeming much younger.

Seeing his silence, Gale said, "Broxigar, tell us why you entered the territory of the Kaldorei Empire?"

Broxigar Saurfang said, "I received a mission to scout the Stonetalon Mountains, but somehow, I ended up here. A group of elves shouted at me, wanting to attack me. I resisted, and although I knocked down some elves, I was eventually captured."

Tyrande said, "Gale, I have questioned the Kaldorei who captured Broxigar, and they have no evidence to prove that Broxigar committed a crime."

Gale looked at Captain Ravencrest, "Is that so?"

Captain Ravencrest nodded, "Indeed, but we cannot confirm his purpose. Orcs are not our allied race, and appearing on the Empire's territory, we have the right to investigate. Until he is proven harmless to the Empire, we have the right to imprison and interrogate him."

"So, what is the result of your interrogation?" Tyrande asked, countering sharply.

"Not yet," Captain Ravencrest said dejectedly.

The Kaldorei looked at each other. They had always thought Broxigar Saurfang was a monster, but it turned out he belonged to another intelligent race. Although this intelligent race looked strange, it should be much better than the trolls!

Gale tapped on the table, "Please be quiet."

"According to the existing evidence, this court cannot confirm that Broxigar Saurfang is harmful to the Empire, but we also cannot confirm that he is harmless to the Empire."

The Kaldorei looked at Gale in astonishment, wondering what kind of judgment he was about to make.

Gale continued, "The principle of this court is not to wrong a good person, so I declare Broxigar Saurfang innocent. However, to ensure Broxigar Saurfang is harmless to the Empire, I will personally supervise him."

"Broxigar, do you have any questions about this judgment?"

Broxigar Saurfang hesitated, "How will you supervise me?"

Gale: "Until you are confirmed to be safe, you need to stay by my side. I will not imprison you, but I will restrict your range of activities."

Broxigar Saurfang thought for a moment, "Okay."

"Does anyone else object?"

The Kaldorei were satisfied with this result. Although they couldn't execute this orc, they were content as long as they could ensure this orc would not endanger the Empire and the safety of Suramar.

Gale: "Since no one has raised an objection, I declare the judgment effective."

Captain Ravencrest was somewhat displeased but still ordered his subordinates to release Broxigar Saurfang.

Broxigar Saurfang stretched his body; his injuries had already been healed by Tyrande. But a greater doubt arose in his heart: why had Tyrande become so young? Also, this world seemed to have become unfamiliar.

Just as everyone was dispersing, a priestess suddenly ran over.

"Gale, monsters have attacked the Temple of the Moon."

The Kaldorei looked at the priestess in astonishment, not knowing what had happened.

Gale flashed over and supported the priestess, "What happened?"

"Just this morning, Queen Azshara ordered the Sisterhood to go to Sin'dorei. As soon as the High Priestess led the sisters away, a group of monsters attacked the Temple of the Moon. They performed a teleportation ritual in the Temple of the Moon, opening a portal. Countless monsters emerged from the portal, slaughtering all surrounding creatures and then absorbing their life force to charge the portal."

Tyrande exclaimed, "Who are they? How dare they desecrate Elune?"

The Kaldorei were equally indignant. Elune was the only true god in the hearts of the Kaldorei, and any act of desecrating Elune would be punished.

"Quiet!"

Gale shouted in a deep voice, "Since those monsters dared to attack the Temple of the Moon, they would have expected us to react. Now, Suramar enters a state of war preparedness. Everyone return home and await the Grand Magister's command."

He turned to Broxigar Saurfang, "You, come with me!"

Broxigar Saurfang followed behind Gale, going with him to see Elisande.
