Due to the situation in The North, the Dornish forces stationed in Dorne began to be dispatched to the northern border, and some of the women from the key military strongholds in The North were also being sent back to the rear of Dorne.
As one of the powerful military nobles of the North, Ashara Dayne, the sister of the Sword of the Morning, also took up residence in the guest house of the Sunspear palace.
Vitt watched this familiar face, who had once laughed and talked at Storm's End, now looking haggard and pregnant, in the garden. He went over to talk to her. Perhaps she thought Vitt was just a child and wouldn't understand, but having someone to confide in, she slowly told him about how she and Eddard Stark had fallen in love at the Harrenhal Tournament. Eddard was the second son of a Duke, and she was the daughter of a noble, so their statuses were suitable. She was also pregnant with his child, and they were preparing to be betrothed.
But Eddard's brother and father were killed, and he suddenly became the Duke of The North. War began, and he married Catelyn Tully, his brother's betrothed. Now, she heard he was going south to attack Dorne, and she was deeply hurt.
Vitt could only say that Eddard was a man of broken promises, abandoning his wife and child, and he cursed him fiercely until Ashara couldn't bear to listen anymore. He then explained that Eddard was forced by the circumstances, analyzing the situation after the death of Eddard's brother and father. The entire North wanted to avenge his brother and father, and they also needed to unite the Riverlands, and so on. Her mood improved slightly after that.
The Battle of the Trident was less intense this time due to the absence of Dornish forces. Although the rebels suffered some losses, they were not as severe as before. Robert was also unhurt in the battle, so he personally led the army to attack King's Landing, with Eddard as his second-in-command.
The Royalist army suffered even greater casualties than before. When news of the defeat reached King's Landing, chaos erupted and morale plummeted. Seeing the tide turning, Tywin Lannister, the Duke of the Westerlands, suddenly marched on King's Landing. He seized the city before the rebel army could regroup, and his forces pillaged the city in Robert's name. When Robert arrived with the rebel army, King's Landing was in ruins. Eddard Stark and other generals stormed the Red Keep, only to find Jaime Lannister of the Kingsguard sitting on the Iron Throne and the Mad King's corpse on the ground.
Tywin's men, Gregor Clegane and Amory Lorch, had murdered Rhaegar's wife, Elia Martell, and Rhaegar's children, Prince Aegon and Princess Rhaenys.
The Mad King's Queen, Rhaella, and Rhaegar's brother, Prince Viserys, were nowhere to be found.
Robert was crowned king on the Iron Throne. Eddard Stark was ordered to lead an army south to relieve Storm's End, which was under siege.
Vitt and Renly had been in Sunspear for a year. They spent some money to bribe the palace guards. While they couldn't let anyone out, they could still send messages in and out of the palace. As for the city itself, it was filled with families who had been around for hundreds or even thousands of years. Who didn't have some spies in the other's city? Vitt had been in contact with Stannis and Robert through letters, though the news wasn't always timely.
While there, Vitt saw Ashara and thought of her brother, the Sword of the Morning. He took the time to write down the martial skills used by the little girls, compiling them into four books as gifts. A person with the mental age of thirty wouldn't hold a grudge against little girls. After nearly a year of getting along, the girls weren't causing trouble, which was good. He could also write them down and teach them to Renly later.
This world was not quite right in this regard. Martial arts were entirely based on family traditions, and were passed down through generations. The good thing was that it could be passed down to protect the interests of the family's descendants and not be learned by outsiders. The downside was that if a key person died, the inheritance would be broken. For example, the current Sword of the Morning of House Dayne. He hadn't died yet, but if he were to die following historical inertia, his family would not produce another Sword of the Morning for the next ten years or so.
The four books were named after the weapons of the four little girls: "Obara's Whip Basics," "Nymeria's Dagger Basics," "Tyene's Dagger Basics," and "Arianne's Spear Basics." Vitt, drawing on his experiences from his previous life, wrote about basic physical training and simple treatments for sprains and bruises. He also drew human figures for each move, along with descriptions of the movements and how to apply force. He also included methods for breaking and changing the moves.
The most crucial thing was breaking down the complex martial skills into individual moves and organizing them, one move per page. No one in this world had done that before. Thinking about how even con artists like the "Lightning Five-Consecutive-Fists" could gain such popularity in his previous life, it was a shame that the real, practical skills of the battlefield were lost to time.
History was largely following its original course. Robert had ascended the Iron Throne and been crowned King of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, Robert I. The next step would be clearing out the remaining resistance. This meant Vitt needed to consider leaving Dorne.
While Vitt was contemplating his departure, having learned the latest news from The North, Nymeria and Tyene burst into the room.
"My father is back, and he wants to kill you! Come with us, we have to escape!" Nymeria grabbed Vitt's hand, clearly anxious. Tyene looked just as worried.
A large group of guards entered the garden and surrounded Vitt and Renly. The guards from Storm's End were unarmed and were quickly subdued after a little pushing and shoving.
Seeing so many guards, Nymeria's hand, still holding Vitt's, was trembling, and she was sweating.
"Prince Doran wants Vitt and Renly in the Throne Room," the captain of the guards announced before ordering his men to seize Vitt and Renly.
Vitt turned to comfort Nymeria. "It's alright, don't worry. The Prince doesn't want to kill us, he just wants to talk."
In the Throne Room, Prince Doran was arguing with his brother Oberyn. Some ministers and nobles were present, some seated, some standing. Seeing Vitt and Renly enter, Oberyn turned and began to berate them.
"My uncle is dead, my sister is dead, and my sister's two children are dead! Robert is the murderer!"
This was the Throne Room, and Oberyn had no weapons on him, but the room was filled with guards holding spears.
Renly was frightened and didn't dare to move. Vitt saw that Oberyn was only speaking, not taking action, which meant Doran had likely spoken to him.
He and Oberyn were only acquaintances from before, with their relationship limited to the fact that he was Robert's brother, like a college student and an elementary school student – how close could they really be? Now that they were on bad terms, while his magic could easily kill Oberyn, he feared Oberyn might try to poison him later. He wasn't sure if magic could remove poison.
"Your Graces! Prince Lewyn Martell died honorably on the battlefield, and it was Tywin Lannister of the Westerlands who killed the Queen and her two children."
Vitt stated the key point first, putting the blame squarely on Tywin.
"The situation before must be clear to both princes. The rebels only had the North, the Vale, and the Stormlands. But Tywin's Westerlands remained neutral, waiting to see which side would win before deciding which way to lean.
After the rebels won at the Battle of the Trident, taking King's Landing would have been effortless. Robert also informed all the rebel commanders to spare the lives of the queen and her children.
But then Tywin suddenly attacked King's Landing. Although he did it under the banner of his brother, Robert, he sent all the supplies in the city back to his own home. This proved that he wasn't with the rebels at all; he was just trying to take advantage of the chaos and get benefits."
