Chapter 14 - New namek

That night, long after Bulma had retired to her room and the hum of Capsule Corp's machines faded into silence, Trunks sat cross-legged on his bed. The moonlight spilled across the floor, pale and cold, like a reminder of the world still scarred outside.

He opened his blue eyes.

"System," he whispered, almost like a prayer. "Extract."

The air shimmered faintly, and the notifications burned across his vision.

{Katchin Steel Infusion unlocked}

{Spatial Talent unlocked}

{Law of Creation training method unlocked}

His breath caught. One by one, the words sank in, each heavier than the last. He summoned his status.

{Name: Trunks Brief}

{Age: 13}

{Race: Half Saiyan / Half Human}

{Talents: Child of Ki (light blue), Spatial Talent (light purple)}

{Extractions: Katchin Steel Infusion (blue), Spatial Talent (light purple), Law of Creation training method (deep purple)}

{Power Level: 13,200,000}

Thirteen million. His base strength alone had grown to something unimaginable for a boy his age. But Trunks didn't grin or gloat—his face tightened with a mix of awe and hunger. Every spar with Gohan, every bruised rib and split lip, had forged him into this.

And yet… sparring wasn't the right word anymore. Their training sessions had turned into battles—brutal, unrestrained. Only trust in each other had kept them from crossing the line into real killing intent.

Still, tonight was different. Tonight he could feel it: new doors had opened.

"Law of Creation…" Trunks whispered, fingers brushing his temple. That was Supreme Kai's domain, the essence of gods. He could almost hear Whis' voice echoing in his memory: God Ki isn't just power, it's existence itself. Even if he couldn't grasp it fully yet, the very act of training it meant his body would begin storing that divine energy. His base would rise, and it would grow by leaps and bounds.

But his body had to recover fast to handle it.

And then Spatial Talent. He thought immediately of Goku, of the fabled Instant Transmission. Could he really…? His chest tightened in excitement. He imagined himself blinking across galaxies in a heartbeat, stepping through the void like it was just another street.

Finally, Katchin Steel Infusion. The name alone reminded him of watching the anime. Katchin, the hardest substance in the universe. The same that had snapped the legendary Z-Sword. If his body, or even his strikes, could be infused with such resilience… what kind of warrior could he become? He asked the system what it truly meant, but silence answered him. No reply. Only mystery.

Lying back, Trunks stared at the ceiling, wide awake. He wasn't just strong anymore—he was on the path to something beyond Saiyan limits.

The next morning dawned bright, Capsule Corp alive with the noise of preparations. Supplies were loaded—water, rations, spare capsules, maps, and the three precious senzu beans. Just three. The weight of their rarity pressed on all of them like a hidden burden.

Trunks and Gohan stood by the ship in their battle attire. For the first time, Trunks wore the outfit that echoed his future self's—the Capsule Corp jacket, boots. He had grown into the look, his once boyish frame hardened by relentless training.

Bulma hurried up with something wrapped in cloth. Her hands trembled as she presented it.

"Trunks, before you go… this is for you."

Trunks unwrapped it, and his breath hitched. The blade gleamed in the morning light—the same iconic sword he had seen in visions of another time, another version of himself.

"Mother… where did you get this?" His voice cracked between awe and disbelief.

Bulma gave a soft, bittersweet smile. "Gohan gave it to me months ago, before I let you start training with him. He said… if something ever happened to him, you should have it. That it would remind you of him, and that it might just save your life one day."

Trunks' eyes widened. He turned to Gohan, who suddenly looked away, rubbing the back of his neck.

"I… I didn't think I'd live long back then," Gohan admitted with a wry, embarrassed chuckle. "But I knew you'd keep fighting. That sword—it's part of you now. So use it well."

Trunks' fingers curled around the hilt. It felt heavier than steel, heavier than destiny itself. For a long moment he couldn't find words.

{Katchin Steel Infusion can be used on target}

His eyes burned red when he saw the text. This would essentially turn this sword into a legendary weapon.

Finally, he strapped it across his back, the leather sheath pressing firm against his spine.

"I'll keep it," he said quietly, but with the conviction of a vow. "And I'll make sure it doesn't become just a memory."

Bulma stepped closer, brushing her hand against his cheek like she had when he was still a child. "You look just like him, you know," she whispered. "Like Vegeta… but also like Goku. You carry both of them in you. And that means you'll be unstoppable."

Trunks thought, "I'm not like them; I will kill the enemy without mercy, nor will I stall them and give them the chance to use their full power due to my pride."
