Chapter 18 - Hunger

The silence on New Namek was peaceful, almost too peaceful. Gohan and Trunks were enjoying the rising ki in their body, but Right as they calmed down their rising ki.

But suddenly, that calm was shattered.

Gohan's eyes snapped open, his chest tightening as though something immense pressed down on him. "Trunks… do you feel that?"

Trunks's head jerked up, his pupils dilating as the sensation ripped through him. It was like a tidal wave of ki far away—so far it was almost unfathomable—yet still sharp and distinct enough to pierce the void of space. It wasn't stable. It wasn't just powerful. It was alive.

And it was still rising.

Trunks clenched his fists, his heartbeat quickening. This energy...it was terrifying, it almost brought him to his knees.

He thought he could rest for a while, but it seems they were stronger opponents already here.

Trunk's sense of urgency grew once again.

Meanwhile, across the vastness of the cosmos, two warriors on Earth felt it just as keenly.

Vegeta, mid-training in the Capsule Corp gravity chamber, froze as the floor beneath him quaked from his own sudden loss of focus. He wiped a sheen of sweat from his forehead, his expression hardening.

Vegeta immediately went there after his ki grew significantly to train and control it, ensuring he wouldn't harm Bulma.

"That ki…" His voice was low, yet edged with disbelief. "Impossible. Who the hell—?"

In another corner of Earth, Goku, enjoying a rare quiet moment at home, set his chopsticks down mid-bite. The smile faded from his face, replaced by a rare look of solemnity. His gaze drifted skyward, as though his eyes could pierce the heavens themselves."Vegeta… you feel that too, don't you? That power… it's way beyond anything we've felt in years."

On New Namek, Trunks swallowed hard as the realization hit him. "It's gotta be Broly," thought Trunks.

It's a good thing Frieza was dead, and no one could get Broly and Paragus off that cursed planet right now.

Far away, on the desolate wastelands of Planet Vampa, a storm of raw energy raged.

Broly's massive frame convulsed, his body glowing faintly with surges of greenish-gold ki that erupted from him in violent waves. His growl became a roar, shaking the very ground, tearing through the mountains around him like paper. Each pulse of power was a declaration, a primal scream of existence that no one could ignore.

Paragus staggered backward, his old body struggling to withstand the shockwaves. His voice was frantic as he raised the control device."Broly! Calm yourself, my son! You must not—"

His own powers grew suddenly, but they were nothing compared to his pride; Broly.

But then he stopped, his eyes wide, his mouth dry. For the first time, he realized something had changed.

The ki wasn't wild anymore.

Broly's breathing steadied, his muscles no longer spasming uncontrollably. His eyes narrowed, their feral gleam replaced with terrifying clarity. The raw energy didn't fade—it grew. It poured into him, refined and controlled, as though he were molding chaos into his own weapon.

Paragus's voice broke in awe. "Y-you… you've mastered it??"

Broly's gaze softened only for a moment as he looked at his father, but the aura around him crackled, more intense, more dangerous than ever before. Power that once destroyed without direction now obeyed his will.

Back on Namek, the air was heavy.

Gohan exhaled slowly, his mind troubled."If that's an enemy Trunks, he already surpasses us. Trunks, we may not have much time."

Trunks nodded firmly, though his lips trembled. "That's why we need to keep going. We can't stop now." He glanced at Dende, who stood quietly beside them, his usually calm face shadowed with concern.

The young Namekian hesitated before speaking. "If what you say is true, then the universe will need more than warriors—it will need balance. Perhaps… perhaps my place isn't here anymore." His eyes flicked from Trunks to Gohan, his decision weighing heavily. "If you'll have me, I'll come with you."

Both half-Saiyans exchanged looks of surprise, then relief. Gohan smiled softly. "We'd be glad to have you, Dende. You'll be more help than you know."

Their farewells to the Namekians were bittersweet. As their ship rose into the green skies of New Namek, Trunks pressed his palm against the glass, watching the planet grow smaller. This was where we grew stronger. But now… the real fight is waiting.

Inside the ship, Trunks took a deep breath, summoning his system interface. The blue light shimmered before his eyes, symbols and numbers dancing in organized order.

{Name: Trunks Brief}

{Age: 13}

{Race: Half-Saiyan / Half-Human}

{Talents: Child of Ki (light blue → blue), Spatial Talent (light purple)}

{Extractions: Katchin Steel Infusion (blue), Spatial Talent (light purple), Law of Creation training method (deep purple)}

{Power Level: 13,200,000 → 60,000,000}

Trunks's eyes widened as he read the figures. His chest swelled with both pride and disbelief. Sixty million… that's almost where Goku was during the Buu saga… and I'm only thirteen.

But even with that revelation, his heart wasn't light. He could feel ki more vividly now, every pulse, every flicker of energy in the universe, clearer than ever before. And somewhere, out in the dark, Broly's overwhelming presence loomed like a star on the verge of collapse.

Resolving himself, Trunks closed the status window and tightened his gloves. "We train harder. No excuses."

The ship's gravity controls hummed, lowering to 30x Earth's gravity. The pressure settled on their bodies like a familiar cloak. Dende joined them this time so they lowered the gravity for him, lending support and insight, while Gohan and Trunks pushed themselves beyond their limits training the god ki training method.

They didn't speak of the storm that was coming—but they all felt it.

The universe was about to change.
