Chapter 17 - New namek (final)

The air above New Namek grew heavy, still, almost sacred. The seven Dragon Balls, each the size of a boulder, glowed with a light so intense that even the warrior Namekians shielded their eyes. Trunks swallowed hard as he watched the orbs ascend, their energy merging into a single brilliant column that pierced the heavens.

The sky bled into darkness. Day turned to night in an instant, the suns smothered beneath the Dragon Balls' power. A rumble shook the land, ancient and deep, as if the planet itself knew what was about to be awakened.

And then—he appeared.

Porunga.

A colossal dragon burst forth from the column of light, its serpentine body stretching endlessly into the heavens. His emerald scales shimmered like liquid jade, his crimson eyes burned with divine fire, and his massive chest rumbled with each breath. Unlike Shenron, Porunga's form was broad and muscular, with arms thick enough to shatter mountains. The mere act of looking at him made Trunks' knees weaken.

Porunga's voice boomed, reverberating through the entire planet."You have summoned me. State your three wishes, and I shall grant them."

The Namekians bowed their heads in reverence. Dende, standing straight despite the tremor in his voice, raised his hand and called out in his native tongue. The guttural syllables of the Namekian language echoed strangely, ancient words bridging mortals and god.

Gohan stepped forward, his jaw tight, his fists clenched. This was the moment he had dreamed of through years of pain. "Dende… tell him this. For our first wish, bring back every creature killed or harmed by the Androids—directly or indirectly. Every innocent life lost. Every Z Fighter."

Dende's voice rang out as he translated. Porunga's eyes flashed, and a surge of divine energy coursed outward. The darkness of the sky flickered as though countless souls were returning from beyond.

On Earth, graves cracked open—not with horror, but with light. Streets once littered with silence filled with gasps, with shouts, with tears. Families torn apart embraced again. Cities long empty buzzed with life.

And among them, figures returned. Krillin blinked in disbelief as he stumbled to his feet. Tien and Yamcha felt the familiar surge of ki coursing through their bodies again. Piccolo opened his eyes, his sharp gaze immediately finding the horizon.

Even Chichi came back to the near east district, the mount paozu in her home.

And then—Vegeta. His armor battered but his pride unbroken, he stood amidst the rubble of West City. Before he could say a word, Bulma threw her arms around him, sobbing into his chest. For once, Vegeta did not push her away. His hand hovered awkwardly, then finally rested against her back, eyes narrowing as he struggled to mask the tremor of relief inside.

Back on New Namek, Gohan wiped at his eyes but kept his composure. He turned again to Dende. "The second wish… bring my father, Son Goku, back to life on Earth."

Dende's chant thundered in the night sky, and again Porunga's eyes glowed. The wish was granted.

Gohan's chest tightened. Just knowing his father was alive again filled him with a hope he hadn't felt in years. Trunks glanced at him, recognizing that look—the boy who had grown into a hardened warrior suddenly felt like a son again.

Back on earth

Nearby, Chichi wept openly as her arms locked around the figure she thought she'd never hold again. "Goku! It's you—it's really you!" she cried.

Goku smiled softly, his hand brushing through her hair. "Yeah… I'm back, Chichi. Gohan… Trunks… they pulled it off."

And then it was Trunks' turn. He stepped forward, his gaze sharp, his heart pounding. "Dende… the last wish. Tell Porunga to unlock the hidden potential of every Saiyan alive."

Dende's eyes widened at the enormity of the request, but he nodded. He repeated the words, the ancient tongue rolling like thunder through the clearing.

Porunga's eyes flared one final time. The ground itself quaked as invisible power surged into Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Trunks. Their ki flared uncontrollably for a moment, shaking the air, ripping through the clouds like golden fire.

Trunks staggered back, gasping, his veins coursing with energy he had never known before. Gohan clenched his fists, his aura crackling like a storm ready to explode. On Earth, Goku and Vegeta each roared as their own power doubled, tripled, climbing to unimaginable heights.

For Trunks and Gohan, the change was even greater. Their hybrid bloodlines responded explosively to Porunga's blessing, their strength skyrocketing beyond reason.

Trunks' heart raced as he caught his reflection in the shimmer of his sword.

Gohan exhaled slowly, his aura dimming back into control. "It's time," he whispered. "We've brought them back. Now the real work begins."

And above them, Porunga's body dissolved into radiant motes of light, his task complete.

The sky cleared. New Namek's suns returned.

The world—both Namek and Earth—felt different now. Alive again.
