Chapter 12 - Day 12

"SOMEBODY MAKE SOME NOISE, ARE WE READY?!"

Hearing his bold crowd hype, nodding my head came naturally. I took my position, standing at the right side. And as our beat made it's way to my ears, I started

♪"You might think that I'll fall and cry my eyes out..."♪

My voice rang smoothly, I wasn't even sure how I sounded properly on a mic before now, despite the auditions as mics were barely used, now, I know my voice sounded as it should, smooth and nice, winning the hearts of the audience, but I'll admit, I wasn't paying attention to that.

Yeah I know as I started singing my throbbing heart became considerate and I was doing fine, but my brain wasn't processing how my voice sounded, but I guess there was no need to find out, as the audience really gave their cheers, then the rap part blew them away,

"Woooo! Yeah...!" As well as the clapping said it all.

Those 3 mins felt like a good time. So I sang my first verse, went into the chorus and the space in-between cued in the rap. The rap had everyone there super hyped and elated, the jeering was superb and the cheers filled the entire place, real splendid, and of course after the rap, my next verse.

But I think I failed to mention that I missed a line in the chorus, yeah I did — I know for some weird reasons you wanted that, worse you wanted me to miss everything, but joke's on you. I have to say, an advantage of having your own songs written and singing them yourself for the first time, is that you're the only with who knows the lyrics, so thus, who's to say you missed one when they don't know it?

So yeah, I got to the chorus, forgot the next line, so I repeated the line before it. And just like hot smearing knife through butter, it went smoothly, then the rap came in, and the crowd were having it. After the rap, instead of the 4 lines of the last verse, I took two — as advised by my rapper friend — the first and the last, then into the chorus again straight, wrapping everything up before the beat came to an end, and with it's end, cheers, and claps.

It was lovely, a day to commit to memory. And yeah, the throbbings barely subsided, but getting back to my seat, I finally could breathe. Yeah it was something else, my heart skipped several beats — twas a wonder there was no cardiac arrest —, my hands had their own heart beat, my legs were being held my Jesus — literally —, my body was almost no different from baby earthquake. But still, it was thrilling, and rewarding, how wonderful it was to know I did it, despite the odds, and not just doing it, the crowd liked it, I really was on my great path. Placing my royal self on my seat, came with a smiley relief sigh, and gradually I was calm — not that I hadn't been since, just pointing that out, I was calm throughout, just so you know.

The day ended and after the week, so did the convention.

"After the end of the convention I got a call from someone, said he heard my song, and was drawn to it, that he'd like I come to the studio with him, and work with him, said with my promise, if the song makes it out there, It'd be a hit. Funny part was, I mean you'd think people just cheered cause of the moment, but, afterwards i couldn't walk a 20 meter distance without getting an 'hey' or an 'it's that guy' from someone, and before you knew it, I had a fan base, and it was just growing. At first I didn't know exactly who the person that called me was, only finding out later that he was a big producer from a big record label — like big big big. So just a bold step to doing what was calling me, really took things this far? I was elated it was really something, and of course I took this opportunity and....."

Yeah yeah yeah, even Alice in Wonderland is in wonder of what sort of Wonderland I got myself immersed in. Yeah I wished. Where did you think here was, Marvel? Or DC? Jeez, Disney maybe. Well all things pit together, that was some top notch vivid imagination.

After the convention, things went back to normal — some things. As for me, things were not normal— things indeed.

You know for the convention, alot of people joined in the choir cause that's where they wanted to function for the convention, and after it they left, leaving the main members, and anyone that wanted to remain a member now— me. But I wasn't the only one who joined in for the convention that decided to stay back, we were three actually that remained, Myself, My rapper friend and his ushering brother — who did I forget to mention was one hell of a cool rapper himself, that's an understatement, dude was fire, wasn't just a rapper, dude was a singer, one with voice, I mean voice, voice.

Just these 3 remained back after just joining for the convention, and mind you, the present number was still a mass — not a grand massive one, but a goodly one.

And that D, was how I became a choir member, and yeah, singing a self written song with a customized or a liked beat for 3 mins, don't mean much here, you know why? Yeah here's why, it took me the first rehearsals after the convention to realize, I had no idea whatsoever of what I thought I was doing. It was like spinning on a top and left in a chicken's cage — yeah it's just a chicken, except no one told you it was an aggressive one, and yeah, normally you'd flee, buh hehehe I doubt vertigo gave you permission.

And thus, my days began, with most days as if my life were flashing before my eyes — either that or the specific day Mr Coordinator said "you should join the choir" , whoever thought that was a good idea. Well either way, there certainly were flashes before my eyes, just can't pinpoint which at this moment.
