Chapter 14 - Day 14

Go out and get myself employed indeed, like the work was already waiting for me, or I had to snap my fingers and ta-da. Like the opportunity was flying in the air and was just eagerly waiting for the arrival of my royal self, and was all like (Exclaiming in reverence) " Oh... The prophesied one, you're finally here, we've waited all our lives for this very moment. And finally, as was written, just as the clock clocked green moon, you appeared, oh how we've waited" Tsk...talk about craziness in a plane of its own, an entire world for it, true ownership, jeez.

At the end of February that year, after staying approximately a year after High school and another without getting in, it was finally time to decide what to do with my life. So that February I got enlightened, enlightened to do something with my life, to get something doing, from scratch. Skills were expensive, also had no interest in any of the available ones then — not that any existed.

So I started thinking, what could I do?

What sort of work could I get into?

And mostly, what works were available?

I got on a public transport — not that I had any private ones — from a popular junction, as I was seated there I looked through to the outside, just staring at the open when I saw a big store — a supermarket. It had a big sign post, very hard to miss and it looked busy. And like a light bulb — or probably a running lighting, or just plain normalness, I have no idea why light bulbs are used for that sort of illustration. "What about a supermarket?"

You know what was good about that question though, it perfectly sank, I wasn't like "What about this supermarket?" Good thing I wasn't specific, who knows how my royal self would have handled it if I got high on those particular ropes, cause yes as you could guess, I didn't get a chance to work there.

Now that I think about it, I had no intentions of working there, except that I did go to make inquires and was told "Hehehe, we not looking for you"

Of course I'm paraphrasing. Well who even wanted to work there in the first place, tsk...their loss I'll tell em that.

So as a diligent young royalty that was now set on what to do next, what did I do? Thanks for asking.

Well, I started researching of course, like any diligent person would, and I'll tell you this for free, making a living is really no play. What am I even saying, looking for where to make a living is no play... who's talking about the living itself, have you even found where to make this living that you're on about the living itself? Jeez

Well my journey, or sojourning started. Well Incase you ask, there really is a difference. For Journey, you have a destination, and for Sojourning, destination has you, you get?

With almost no resemblance to a young handsome royal being, I started researching — of course what other name would you call it, trekking? or scavenging? Researching of course.

So I practically started making full use of my ride — the natural one, you know you wouldn't appreciate the goodness in it, till you have only it, and it really is serving you to full extent. I'd go from junction to junction to junction and to junction, north, east, west, south, I'm not even trying to be poetic, I really went through the Cardinals. So after this field trips, I started applying, went home, wrote an application letter, and the reason for the field trips were also to get their addresses, it's not like I could just write a letter to them and miss their address aye? Thus the field trips, then came the 'we'll get back to you' ringtone, yeah, it might as well had been a ringtone, cause I couldn't make the difference.

You tell a young handsome guy... no, a young handsome guy comes to your store to ask if you got vacancy, and you tell him, come with your application, he so humbly does, leaves his polished bed — ahem...that was a slip of the tongue, you really should demand an explanation on what exactly this "polished" bed was, anyways —, and came back with said application, and you tell him, we'll be in touch, like hell you would.

It's almost like they lock the application in a dark room, and forget about it, and no kidding, that wasn't far from the truth, cause one day, after waiting my ass out, I had to go ask if this their 'we'll get back to you' don't have an actual due date, or did they mean, a 'later' that meant, 'from now, till we're almost dead'? Cause I was really ready to be out there, not staying in without pay.

Getting to one of the stores I had previously dropped my application, I was like "I came earlier, I wanted to know when you guys would call" and guess what, they person there was like

"Oh yeah" and that's when he went into his drawer to pick it out, still sealed, to give the person in charge, cause he had told me earlier to drop it with him, that he'll pass it on when the person in charge got back, and what a wonderful work he did passing it on... hilarious.

I'm not sure which is more gruesome, the seeking or the waiting. Well finally the both were about to get off the way as I got interviewed by this store. Same one with the drawer person, who forgot someone dropped an application, jeez .

Well I was told to get my guardian, since I had one. Funny how that was required despite being 19 at the time. Well they wanted a guarantee, to be sure they could trust me for the work. Me that was born with a pure face... What a shame...

Well I scaled through, and we spoke terms. Funny how nobody said anything about the next part — the actual doing of the terms part.

It's easy when you're told 7 to 9:30, Monday to Saturday and eagerness or desperation got your hands booked, to be like yes sure. Then you start, and along the line— at the beginning matter of fact, along which line?at the beginning please — you start to realize, maybe not having a work might not have been so bad after all...
