Chapter 7 - Day 7

I've had my romance moments in my life, grade school, Junior Secondary, even Senior, now emphasis on 'moments', they were just moments, with each of their cute sparks.

But this one was different, it was different for it's reasons, and it was the first with that sort of spark, an amazing spark.

So this very moment in my life, I was seated there writing a song that was inspired by her, or should I say I wrote it with her in mind and no, it wasn't sensual. It was... hahaha... It was what it was, today's not about romance, the path to my 'future' was literally on the line here, so romance later — I really have no idea why this is making me almost blush, my lips keep contorting into a silly grin.

Well, I sat there whilst the rehearsals were on, instruments blazing and everything, and was doing my song writing, waiting for Mr Coordinator to come attend to me and give the go, so that the path to my future of impact could start.

Due to it being the preparation week for the convention, the choir ended their rehearsals earlier than they normally did — but I wouldn't know, their normal rehearsals time, was no business of mine.

Being the end of their rehearsals, they started dispersing and behold, Mr Coordinator was walking down towards the exit door through the aisles — the aisle close to me. Seeing as he was approaching I stood up to go after him, and caught up with him before he could get to the door, seeing as I was the one, he stopped and this time thankfully he waited.

"Ahh Big man you're here, oya let's hear it"

Of course the 'big man' was just gesture, and of course I had my smiles and head nodding with something along the lines of "Good day sir" to return the gesture— now disclaimer, it's been long and I'm not very sure the specifics of how he said this particular thing, but I'm sure it's something along those lines.

And of course I started, I had my beat record on my phone, and the part I haven't mentioned, this song I was to do, I had featured someone in it. Dude was good, he was a rapper, and I knew him, and he had a part to rap in this song.

Not even up to half way into my singing, I was cut short — of course not for any evil reasons you just thought.

When singing to him, I didn't play my record, neither was my partner with me, just my bare singing and the part I was to sing.

"Why not join the choir?"

Hearing this words from his mouth after he heard the few parts of the song, felt like a joke — an expensive one. Join what...? Who...? Me...? Why...? Nah...? At least those played in my mind for probably the first two seconds after I heard what he said.

"Ehn?" I blurted out

"Why not join the choir? Someone like you, would be good in the choir, why not join?"

Of course the 'Ehn?' was probably the one thing that was dominant in my mind — before the next words

"You think I should join the choir?"

"Yes"

"Now?"

"Why not?"

Hahaha, at this point I was laughing in my head, and of course it slipt out

"Haha ..." Of course with it out, it sounded like one of those moments when someone was out of words in an unforseen circumstance and could only laugh — of course too, that literally was the case.

"You should join the choir" he added.

Now whatever 'haha' my brain had, had to pause for me to actually think now.

No judgie now, remember how I said 'no way I'd be a choir boy'? Well at this point I wasn't so strong on that — now hold up, before you start spilling yaps. At this point in time, there'd been some changes in the choir, a new leadership and everything, so in my defense it wasn't the same. And also I'd just started my music path, and now I'm sort of seeing things a bit differently.

The idea wasn't still sounding all good, but it wasn't so bad either.

But still I wasn't just going to go in for it.

"Hah... Even if I'm to join, maybe after the convention, since you guys are all shocked up and everything, I'll be easier for me"

"No no no, now is the best time to join, now that they're many new faces joining it to officiate cause of the convention, it would be easier for you to mix, since most people are new"

Alright, now that was making some sort of sense, but even at that, I had other issues to consider now, if I was, and a big if, really big if, was to consider this whole new option, there were other things to be considered as well. This people were officiating people and they don't officiate naked, so I had to bring that up

"Even if I'm to join, I don't have officiating clothes"

I really had none, looking back my life up to that moment, I had never worn a suit before, and I mean worn, not even own, and now I'm supposed to be joining this suit wearing people to do official work? I wasn't even sure I had a standard shoe — so what did I have then, you ask...? Well I had what I had, period.

"Haha..." He started with a mild laugh — or something like that.

"Those things are not an issue, they'll come as you go"

"I don't have ties" just so he knows

"You have a black trouser right?" Haha, and you once asked what I had huh? Well here it is, I did have a trouser, so jokes on you.

"Yes" I answered

"Well that's mostly enough, if it's for ties, you can always meet me, but these things are not an issue, just start"

"So how do I start?" Ahem... You better don't judge, I mean was there any reason you're finding here that should deter me? I don't see one, so of course I'm asking how to start.

"Just join for our next rehearsals"

"Alright sir" well there you have it, here we go. So yeah, I said it. But of course, even if I wasn't opposed to this new whole thing, there was also the main reason I'd been sticking around — my auditioning.

" So sir what about the song I'm doing"

"Yeah" he nodded " you're good to go"

Haha, see? Told you I was good, you just didn't believe me
