Chapter 4 - The misunderstanding and the magician

3 The misunderstanding and the magician

One day Rodion decided to read the comments on his book and one in particular caught his attention, so he decided to respond. The comment was simple, a question actually.

"Author, Irina Ivanov is an incredible character, her achievements are justified and she is totally deserving of everything she has achieved, I am looking forward to her confrontation with the protagonist in the next arc"

Rodion dug deep into his memory to locate the rest of the comment in his head, if he remembered correctly it ended with a question and it was then that something lit up in his mind.

"Author, Why doesn't Irina Ivanov celebrate her achievements? And why does she look so depressing? Even though she has achieved so much at such a young age?"

In response to the comment, Rodion, typing on his computer, smiled slightly and at that moment decided to give a spoiler to his reader Peter 44

"This comment is temporary, I'm still analyzing this loose plot point, but it goes like this, Irina Ivanov lost everyone she loved before she was 15, her entire village was destroyed and she was the only survivor, she promised her childhood love that she would reach the top for him"

Back in reality, Alex and Rodion entered the adventurers' guild, the person who knew a wizard who worked there as a receptionist .

Rodion was surprised to see that the building had about four floors, the first floor was for common people there they could delegate missions to both adventurers and mercenaries.

"Welcome to the Adventurers Guild"

The receptionist spoke without looking, she spoke mechanically, driven only by habit.

"To collect a mission please read the scoreboard on the left, to register read the one on the right, for other matters just declare it right here"

"Svetlana, don't say you forgot about us so easily," Alex said, raising her metallic tail. The rabbit girl's ears perked up when she heard the familiar voice.

"What are you doing here?" The girl looked at Rodion shyly and the white hairs on her cheeks turned slightly pink.

"My friend has a business with you, do you have time?" At this moment Rodion was still lost in his thoughts so Alex had to speak for him.

"Can't it be tonight at the usual place? Well, now I can't do that kind of thing" the girl looked around and said almost whispering Alex even had difficulty hearing.

"Tonight? No way , my friend is in a hurry, if you don't do it now your business could go bad, if you can't help let's look for someone else who can."

" What ? No, no way anyone else, you promised you would only do it with me."

This time Svetlana's voice came out a little loud but people looked at them strangely and Rodion, who until then had been lost in his thoughts, woke up to life.

"Excuse me," she said to the two of them, looking at the people who were whispering, "What are you looking at? Go mind your own business."

Rodion decided to join the conversation.

" Can you help me ?"

"Yes, of course, but just this once."

Rodion placed the package he was carrying on the counter when the rabbit girl stopped him saying.

"Where are we going? To the inn in town or to my house?"

Svetlana asked timidly, Rodion didn't want to waste any more time going somewhere else, he wanted to meet the magician soon and cast the spell to preserve Irina's heart and blood, after all, his future partly depends on it.

"Why waste more time going somewhere else? For me it might as well be right here."

The girl almost screamed again, she looked at Rodion completely blushing and a little scared.

"Here? You. I didn't know you liked this kind of adventure." Before Rodion could express his confusion, Svetlana asked a nearby girl to take his place while she pulled Rodion into a private room.

"Friend, have fun and then tell me how it went, I want to know everything" Alex said with a wide smile, hearing such excitement Svetlana blushed and hurried her steps pulling Rodion away.

Inside a private room, Rodion placed his bag on a table and sat on an old sofa, but quite comfortable, to his surprise, Svetlana threw herself onto it.

This was unexpected, Rodion felt something soft and fuzzy and warm welcoming him, he quickly pushed the girl away from him.

"What are you doing? " Rodion was visibly upset and the girl noticed it.

"You want to be in control like last time, don't you? Okay, just don't hit as hard, just a little bit."

Now the girl was completely red as a pepper, Rodion was losing his patience, what the hell did Alex say to her? Why was he being attacked for no reason?

"What's gotten into you today? You came to me, so why are you pushing me away? I thought you wanted to do it again."

Svetlana said angrily, biting her lower lip. Sighing, Rodion understood the confusion he had gotten into during Alex's game.

"Wait, you misunderstood, I didn't come to you for that."

"Then why did you come?"

"Alex said you would help me request help from a wizard."

"A wizard? Why would you need a wizard?" Svetlana asked with a frown, she was still angry since Rodion hadn't looked for her for reasons only she knew.

"I need a preservation spell, you know someone who can do it, right?" Rodion asked hopefully.

"A preservation spell is basic. I do know someone capable of casting such a spell, but what do you have to offer? Wizards are quite demanding people."

"Can you call him now?"

Rodion asked impatiently, he was a little uncomfortable being alone with Svetlana, he felt like he would be attacked at any moment if he showed any weakness.

"I can call a wizard for you, but it won't be cheap, after you pay the wizard you will also have to do something for me, is that okay with my terms?"

In response, Rodion asked in the affirmative, no matter what Svetlana had to plan, if everything went as planned tomorrow he would leave this city before destruction came.

"Wait 2"

"What now?"

"Before you leave, I want an old parchment, the oldest you have. Also bring some plain paper, ash, and a candle."

Svetlana left upset since the purchase order did not include her, but she did it anyway and in just a few minutes everything he asked for was ready.

"What are you drawing there?" Svetlana asked curiously, seeing the serious way Rodion scribbled on the old parchment.

"Hurry up and bring the wizard here, I don't have much time." Rodion gestured for her to leave, concentrating completely on his drawing.

Several minutes later Svetlana was back with a man, or rather an older minotaur who was wearing a blue robe that symbolized his mage stator.

From the staff and tunic, Rodion knew that the person in front of him was indeed a true wizard, seeing a minotaur wearing reading glasses was quite attractive.

The wizard looked with disappointment at Rodion who noticed the slight glow behind the glasses, he knew that such a figure had used a sense characteristic of those who had entered the path of evolution.

Even though the wizard has disappointed to see Rodion his commissioner, his eyes almost popped out of his head when he saw the parchment on the table, this somehow made Rodion smile, confirming yet another point about this world and his book.
