"I told you earlier, she's my plus one. As long as we're both at this party, she is my plus one," he stated, a grin stretching on his lips. "It's only when we leave here that you can call her your wife." With that, Darien landed a deserving punch on Theodore's face that immediately knocked the man out of consciousness.
Adeline gasped when she saw Theodore lying on the ground, completely unconscious. She ran over to him to try to wake him up, but he didn't budge one bit.
"What did you do to him?" She questioned, placing her head on his chest to catch a heartbeat. And when she did, her shoulders dropped in relief.
She stood up and glared hard at Darien who was already staring at her with a confused expression.
"You shouldn't have done that to him," she reprimanded. "What if something more dangerous had happened? What if…what if you'd killed him?!" She questioned.
"Are you worried about him?" He asked, his confusion only deepening.
