"Sorry ma'am but your card was declined," she heard.
Lina scowled.
'How could that be?' She thought.
She glared at the salesgirl and demanded, "Swipe it again."
She couldn't afford to have her card messing up now, not in front of Adeline and her friends. They've already mocked her. If they found out that she couldn't even pay for the dress…
"What's taking you so long? I thought you'd have already left by now. Or are you still here to make your stench stronger than it already is?" Daniela asked without holding back.
She grinned in satisfaction when Lina glared at her as if she wanted to burn her with her gaze.
Daniela stared at the salesgirl who was swiping the black card with all her might as if her life depended on it.
"Don't tell me you came here to shop without having any money," said Daniela.
It was obvious she didn't want to let Lina off the hook. Although she wasn't the one hurt, she felt the utmost urge to humiliate Lina in front of everyone.
