Asher's POV
"Get your hands off my daughter!" I roared, lunging at Maya's sister.
Raina merely smiled and touched Luna's silver collar. My daughter screamed, dropping to her knees in pain.
"Stop!" Maya cried, rushing forward. "Please, Raina!"
I froze mid-step, caught between rage and terror. Around us, the collared wolves watched with fearful eyes.
"Twelve years," Raina said calmly. "Twelve years I waited while you played happy family, sister. Now Shadow Creek is mine."
Luna whimpered, her small fingers clawing at the collar. Her eyes flashed silver then blue, fighting for control.
"The Council accepts me because I delivered what they wanted most," Raina continued. "A child who carries the First Wolf's power."
My mind raced. How had Luna been taken? Victor and Eli were supposed to protect her with their lives.
"Victor is dead," Raina said, reading my thoughts. "Eli barely survived."
My blood ran cold. Victor is dead? The powerful wolf who'd survived countless battles, gone?
