Chapter 136 - Catwoman Under Residential Surveillance, Taoist Priest on Guard!

Joker shook his head rapidly. "Batman's not here anymore! I'm not calling!"

Gordon looked puzzled, waiting for Lin Chen to explain.

Lin Chen pointed to the fat man. "He has a mobile phone in his stomach. It's connected to a bomb that can blow up an entire floor."

Gordon reacted immediately and leapt back. Lin Chen remained calm—his spiritual shields rendered him impervious.

Quickly, Gordon ordered the fat man isolated in an open area, and Roar called in the bomb disposal team and surgeons.

Lin Chen glared at the clown. "You're already helpless, and you're still harming your subordinates?"

After speaking, he leaned back, relaxed, and watched the scene unfold.

Gordon, full of gratitude, said, "Daoist, if not for you, our police station would've been destroyed!"

Lin Chen smiled. "Gordon, you owe me a favor. How about a kiss?"

Gordon blushed. "Well, Jill won't have to work overtime today, sir."

Lin Chen almost spat in disgust. "I'm so sorry!"

Gordon hesitated. "Master, what do you mean?"

"How about I arrange amnesty for Catwoman?"

"Catwoman?" Gordon looked uncomfortable. "We'd have to discuss with Dent. Complete amnesty is unrealistic. Residential surveillance is possible."

Lin Chen grinned. "Residential surveillance? Fine. I'll watch her myself!"

Jill twisted his waist playfully. "I believe in you!"

Lin Chen chuckled. "Give me a chance to reform her."

"Hmph! Better hope she reforms than the clown!" Jill snapped, fuming. "You're looking for trouble with your 'beauty' obsession."

Gordon headed home to handle police business and avoid questioning by the stern Tigress.

Lin Chen and Jill mounted the motorcycle. Across the street, the nanny car awaited. Three girls pretended to play on their phones inside.

"Hurry! Drive me there!" Lin Chen shouted.

The Widow Sister revved the car, drifting forward smoothly.

Lin Chen looked at Jill. "Hop on, beauty. Brother will take you there!"

Jill hugged him tightly on the back seat, beaming.

Meanwhile, Harley grumbled. "Master, people were just worried about you!"

Lin Chen nodded. "It's fine. The police will handle things from now on."

Catwoman interjected. "Harley's worried too, so it's easier for us!"

Jill scowled. "The Taoist priest is here for me, not your goblin!"

"Me?" Catwoman looked confused.

"Yes. He's asking for your amnesty, maybe a year or two under residential surveillance—no jail time."

Catwoman squealed. "I can retire with integrity?!" She leapt into Lin Chen's arms.

Lin Chen whispered, and Catwoman jumped away, exclaiming, "What? Go to your room? No way!"

Harley and Jill dodged as Lin Chen muttered, "I just asked for a massage, and this is what I get?"

Widow Sister, ever practical, brought bowls of sugar water. "Drink up, I boiled it myself!"

Lin Chen gave her a look. "Boiling sugar water? You've leveled up in domestic skills?"

She smirked, placing a bowl near his face. "Police tips, of course!"

That evening, Lin Chen climbed Jill's balcony, enduring playful complaints from her.

Meanwhile, Widow Sister reported to Fury:

"Boss, today Lex Luthor was framed as Batman by Lin Chen and Catwoman…"

Fury blinked. "Natasha, about Black Bat and Stark trying to recruit you at high pay—don't stress. I'll apply for a salary increase."

Widow Sister's eyes sparkled. "Thank you, boss!"

Fury nodded. "Lin is too powerful. Top criminals like the Joker and Luthor can't escape his foresight. Imagine if he joined S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Impossible," Widow Sister shook her head. "He wouldn't join any agency, even for you, boss."

"Such a shame. Collect intel on his formation and fortune-telling methods at least," Fury sighed.

Lin Chen overheard and muttered, "This greedy genius wants it all!"

Jill laughed and hugged him tightly.

Days later, Dent and Rui Boots visited with Catwoman's residential surveillance decision.

"Master, we truly appreciate you. Rachel and I might've been gone without you," Dent said, grasping Lin Chen's hand.

Lin Chen smiled. "I won't let Gotham lose two elite prosecutors. You're getting married—God doesn't want you dead."

Rui Boots nodded. "Daoist, you're amazing—you even predicted our decisions!"

Lin Chen thought: Hurry up and get married. Batman's not your match.

Dent's eyes softened. "Master, I didn't believe in you before. Now, you're a guiding light in my life!"

Lin Chen waved him off. "Just send me a wedding invitation."

"Must!" Dent laughed.

Catwoman was fitted with electronic shackles restricting her to Lin Chen's villa's vicinity.

"Behave for a year and a half, Selena, and the shackles come off," Rui Boots said.

Just then, Dent received news: the Joker had been rescued by unknown mercenaries.

Lin Chen shook his head. "The biggest flaw in Gotham? No death penalty. Criminals go to jail, escape, and commit crimes again."

Dent agreed, but their hands were tied.

Jill returned to the station as Lin Chen leaned back, checking his merit points.

He drew a lottery and won the purple prize: the spell Roar: Wind and Rain!

Lin Chen sighed. "Useful in ancient times, but modern people just make artificial rain. Still saves some materials."

Widow Sister tied her red hair with a handkerchief, carrying a bucket of water. "It hasn't rained for days. Don't ignore the garden—you'll dry everything out!"
