Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 — The Abyss Bows

The battlefield stilled.

Ash, shadow, and broken essence hung in the abyssal air as the colossal form of the Abyss Dragon staggered, Sovereigns and armies holding it down in chains of flame, tide, root, lightning, wind, shadow, and dawn.

Its vast wings were pinned, its scales shattered, its breath faltering. But its eyes—those abyssal voids—still glowed with a will that could not be extinguished.

Its chest convulsed once more, abyssal light crackling like thunder trapped within flesh. With a horrifying crack, it released a second wave — abyssal wraiths, countless shadows of everything ever devoured. They shrieked, clawed, and dove at Kael's legions.

Necromanced bosses were ripped apart. Treants burned, kobolds screamed, beastmen clashed steel against shadows that had no flesh.

The dragon roared again, spreading its wings, and this time unleashed a pulse of annihilation.

The abyss itself erupted outward. Spires shattered into ash, oceans split into nothingness, the ground itself tore as though refusing to exist under its master's fury.

Kael shielded his face, teeth clenched. If that blast had lasted even a moment longer…

The dragon rose one last time, scarred but still titanic, its aura dwarfing all else.

But Kael's voice thundered back."Formation! End it now!"

Pyraflame tore its wing joint with a sovereign blaze, molten fury carving into its marrow.

Aquara bound its other side, the Tidecaller Spirit chaining abyssal fire beneath crushing oceans.

Terrathorn hurled mountains into its spine, tectonic fury cracking abyssal bone.

Voltra streaked lightning into its skull, searing horn and brain alike.

Zephyros coiled winds around its neck, binding its last attempt to rise.

Umbra devoured its regenerating flesh, swallowing light itself.

Luminara blazed with dawn, holy radiance burning away the abyssal phantoms.

Graknar and his goblin army climbed its frame, hammering and stabbing, thousands of tiny blows tearing down a titan.

Kobolds pierced its belly with explosive spears.Treants rooted into its body, splitting it apart from within.Beastmen clashed with crafted blades that glowed brighter than steel should, carving abyssal hide.

The dragon convulsed, then collapsed, pinned beneath Sovereign fury.

Kael stepped forward, heart pounding, staff glowing faintly in his grasp. His army parted as he walked across the ruined throne-ground to the dragon's snout.

It gazed at him. Not with hatred. Not even with resistance.

But with judgment.

You have done what no one else has.

The words thundered in his mind, shaking his very bones.

The abyss devours all. But you… you command it. You shape it. You lead not by hunger, but by will. You turned corruption into resolve, shadow into strength. You have stood where no mortal should—and you did not break.

Its chest split open, but this time not in violence. Something emerged.

A Dungeon Core.A crystallized heart of abyssal origin, swirling with power to create realms of its own.

The dragon lowered its head, the weight of eternity pressing into Kael's chest.

This is my throne… my prison. No more. Take this Dungeon Core. Shape your own dominion, one that grows as you grow. Where others will come, where trials may be reborn. It is not destruction I give you… but creation.

Then, deeper still, a second core pulsed free from its heart.

The Abyss Dragon's Core — a condensed essence of abyssal sovereignty itself, radiating both darkness and eternity.

And this… is my heart. My power. My truth. Take it, Sovereign of Summons. The abyss does not bow — except to the one who commands legions greater than its own.

Its massive frame trembled. The light in its abyssal eyes dimmed. Its wings sagged, its breath faltered.

Kael, stunned, reached out, placing a hand upon the scales as the two cores floated before him.

And then—

DING!

[You have obtained: Dungeon Core (Abyssal Origin).][You have obtained: Abyss Dragon's Core.]

[Level Up!][+5 Levels]

Kael's body shuddered as the rush of raw essence surged through him.Level 70 → Level 75.

His veins burned with new strength. His summons pulsed with resonance, their contracts humming with power as though feeding on the dragon's last breath.

The Abyss Dragon closed its eyes, lowering its head fully, resting against the broken throne.

Its voice was faint, but still thundered in Kael's mind.

Carry it forward… do not fall as I did…

And with that final whisper, the dragon exhaled. Its massive form dissolved into motes of abyssal light, drawn into the two cores now pulsing in Kael's hands.

Silence fell.

The Abyss itself… was conquered.
