Chapter 148 - “That’s reassuring,” Zhen Lizi said with a nod.

The probability of danger was high, but Zhen Lizi did not worry much with Xu Fu present.

She had already seen him slaughter the warriors of the Shouhe Society—though bloody, it did not faze her as a member of the original family. After all, those warriors had sought to kill Xu Fu first.

"Xu Fu, the other warrior you're pursuing—won't there be a problem?" Jane asked, her concern barely disguised.

Xu Fu shook his head. "It's fine. That person can't blackmail me."

His magical clone pursued the Shouhe Society warrior, and with Xu Fu's current power, even a clone could easily handle him. Only someone on Odin's level would pose a real threat. And there was no reason for these warriors to reach that level—the god-king of the Nine Domains was beyond their scope.

"That's reassuring," Zhen Lizi said with a nod.

"Don't worry, Zhen Lizi. Xu Fu's strength is formidable. Those people aren't a threat to him," Starlight said with a small laugh. She knew Xu Fu better than most—anyone who could survive the Devourer of the Supreme Creation God Planet was beyond ordinary warriors.

A knock sounded at the door.

"Come in," Xu Fu called.

The door opened, revealing Ji Fu—the woman who had brought Wolverine from Canada before, and someone who had grown up alongside Jane. Though a retainer of the former family, she still had strong ties with Zhen Lizi.

"Your Excellency Xu, Miss Starlight, Sister Zhen Lizi," Ji Fu said respectfully.

"Ji Fu," Xu Fu greeted.

Her presence was familiar, but not as close to him as Zhen Lizi. "Do you have business here?" Zhen Lizi asked.

"It's dangerous to stay at home," Ji Fu said. "Miss, you should know that this chaos… it's likely orchestrated by the original family."

Zhen Lizi's eyes darkened. "You mean my father?"

Ji Fu nodded, alarmed. "Miss, if that's true, you must leave. Lord Yashida is here. It's far too dangerous."

"Xu Fu is here," Zhen Lizi said calmly. "There's nothing to worry about."

Xu Fu nodded in agreement. Zhen Lizi's confidence in him had grown over the past two days—rightly so.

"You can see the death of others, Ji Fu. But you've seen nothing in me," Xu Fu added quietly.

Ji Fu's eyes widened. Indeed, she could sense no mortal threat in Xu Fu—not a single hint of fatality. Even the attacks of a master seemed unable to touch him.

"Then I needn't worry," Ji Fu said, relief washing over her.

After she left, Xu Fu suggested, "Zhen Lizi, Jane, let's go outside. The night hasn't fallen yet. A walk will help clear our minds."

"Good idea," Jane said.

"There's nothing wrong with me," Starlight added.

The three of them left the original house, stepping into the evening air.

Meanwhile, in the former Yashida kendo training room, a swordsman wearing full protective gear fought multiple opponents. His bamboo sword moved with lethal precision, tossing aside anyone in his path.

He lowered his weapon, removed his protective helmet—and revealed the familiar face of Zhen Lizi's father, the former Yashida.

"Any news?" Yuan Qian Yashida asked his assistant.

"My lord, Your Excellency Xu has left the group with Miss Zhen Lizi," the assistant replied respectfully.

"I see," Yashida said, eyes narrowing. "You may step down."

The assistant bowed and withdrew. Yashida opened the door, staring into the distance. His eyes flickered with anger. His preparations had been thwarted by the sudden attack of the Chijiao Group—and now Xu Fu was involved.

Thinking back on their previous conversation, Yashida realized its significance: the Chijiao Group and Xu Fu were linked.

He restrained himself, choosing not to act rashly. Zhen Lizi was with Xu Fu, and any attack now could endanger her. Yet time was running out.
