Ivy's POV
I kept my gaze fixed forward as Eric and Rober rushed past. Someone's eyes landed on me, but I pretended not to notice. If it was Eric, we'd talk later. If it was Rober, I had zero interest in meeting his stare.
Rhea leaned in close. "What the hell just happened?" she whispered.
"I wish I had answers. But whatever it is, it's serious." I maintained a neutral expression, keeping my voice low. Part of me wanted to confide in her completely, but we barely knew each other. Despite feeling I could trust her, I needed more certainty before revealing everything.
"I get it," Rhea replied with a subtle nod as we turned our attention to the king who was now mounting the stage.
Three council members followed him, with Rober bringing up the rear. Anger radiated from him – his eyes narrowed, and though he wore a smile, I could see the predator lurking beneath the façade. His wolf was dangerously close to the surface.
