Miranda stared at Nolan with wide eyes, her mind completely blank. The ringing phone seemed miles away. There was absolutely no way she could answer it now, not when she could barely string two coherent thoughts together.
Nolan flashed her a knowing smirk and reached across the desk to answer the call. "Nolan," he said smoothly, wedging the receiver between his ear and shoulder. She watched him dispose of the used condom and adjust his clothing, tucking his shirt back into his pants with practiced ease.
"No, she's not at her desk at the moment. I have her tied up doing something else for me." His eyes sparkled mischievously at the word "tied up." Miranda couldn't help but wonder just how adventurous Nolan might be. The thought of being restrained by him didn't frighten her at all—something she realized she would never have trusted Ryan to do.
That simple realization spoke volumes about her instinctive level of trust in both men.
