Since Ego's true body was the planet itself, and with Gamora and the others already evacuated, Saitama no longer had any reason to hesitate.
"Serious Punch!"
Blue-white arcs of electricity crackled around his fist. Space shattered layer by layer. Asteroids along the path disintegrated into powder.
BOOOOM—!
The punch crashed into Ego's planetary barrier. White cracks instantly spread across the transparent shield before it shattered like glass in less than a second.
Next came the magma bulwarks. Even with extreme heat and the hardest metals forged together, they crumbled to dust under the force of Saitama's strike.
The alloy giant Ego himself was pierced straight through. A gaping crater hundreds of meters wide exploded in his chest, the punch tearing through the surface all the way down to the planet's core—where his Celestial brain resided.
"NOOO!!"
Ego's scream echoed through the void. Blue fissures streaked across the planet's crust, a sign of catastrophic energy failure.
"I am Ego! A Celestial! I cannot die at the hands of a lowly mortal!"
His voice was madness, but his body betrayed him—splitting apart, his very essence unraveling.
KA-BOOOOM!
The entire planet detonated. Light flooded the star system as debris scattered into space, shockwaves grinding nearby asteroids into dust.
Saitama stood calmly atop a drifting rock, unfazed by the cataclysm.
This Serious Punch was far beyond the one he had unleashed back in his own world. Destroying a planet… was merely the beginning.
——
Far away, aboard the Ravager ship, Quill, Yondu, Gamora, Rocket, and the others gaped at the projections.
"The planet… exploded?!"
"Impossible… Ego was a Celestial!"
"Wait… then Saitama… he destroyed him?"
They exchanged looks of disbelief as the ship rattled from the aftershocks.
Rocket slammed the controls. "Scan for life signatures—come on, come on…"
"Over there!"
On a massive asteroid, they spotted him—Saitama, bald head gleaming, standing effortlessly in the vacuum of space.
"Monster… an absolute monster. I'm jealous."
Drax chuckled in awe.
Quill's heart was heavy. He could feel the divine spark inside him vanish like a tide retreating. Ego's death had severed his half-Celestial power, leaving him once more just a rogue thief of the stars.
"It's done. Let's go."
Saitama spoke flatly, stepping through the void as if walking on solid ground, and entered the ship without a suit.
"You're safe… thank goodness."
Gamora exhaled, relief flickering in her eyes.
Yondu shook his head in disbelief. Even he, a Ravager hardened by countless battles, couldn't comprehend what he had just witnessed. Ego—one of the most terrifying existences in the cosmos—had been slain.
"Where to next, boss?" Rocket asked, grinning.
"You decide. Thinking is troublesome."
Saitama scratched his head.
"Campbell Planet! Vacation paradise!" Quill cheered, already queuing up his Walkman and breaking into dance.
But while the others celebrated, Saitama's figure slowly turned translucent.
[Respected Saitama-sama, the next sightseeing destination is ready. Prepare for forced landing.]
"Forced landing? …Why does my vacation always end like this…"
Saitama muttered helplessly.
——
Sakaar.
The endless garbage pits of the Grandmaster's realm stank of rot and rust. Towers of broken machinery, shattered weapons, and mountains of refuse filled the horizon.
Suddenly—
"AAAHHH!!"
A body plummeted from the sky, crashing headfirst into a mound of trash.
The man staggered up, golden hair matted, a single eye gleaming blue with fury and grief. His armor bore the marks of a prince of Asgard.
Thor, the God of Thunder.
He had once descended to Muspelheim to slay the Fire Giant and steal his crown, preventing Ragnarok's spark. Yet his true nightmare had come from elsewhere— from his own bloodline.
Days ago, Odin's fading spirit had warned him of the one imprisoned beneath Asgard. His sister. His father's firstborn.
The Goddess of Death. Hela.
Thor hadn't believed it… until he saw her crush Mjolnir to dust with one hand. Until her blade pierced his eye.
If not for Heimdall tearing open the Bifrost to hurl him across the stars, Thor would already be dead.
"Alive… better alive than dead," Thor muttered bitterly, standing among the refuse of Sakaar.
But deep within him, he knew—
Hela had returned. And she would drown Asgard in death.
