Chapter 1: Escape Through the Dense Forest 🌲
Hayato had spent the entire morning adjusting to his new body—one that was twenty years younger. Eventually, he came to accept the truth: he had transmigrated.
Just six hours ago, Hayato was a Pokémon breeder selling custom Pokémon on the TaoBao-like site "PeachMart." He had just received a massive order for 300 perfect 6IV Pokémon and was preparing for an all-nighter to modify them. But after finishing just one, everything went black. When he opened his eyes again, he was in a completely different world.
After lying stiffly and watching a 30cm green Caterpie crawl across his chest, Hayato finally realized—he had crossed into the Pokémon world.
As a lifelong fan of Pokémon and someone who had no attachments in his previous life, waking up in his favorite universe should've been a dream come true.
But his current situation? Not so dreamy.
Seriously?! Others transmigrate into bustling cities or powerful clans. Hayato? He landed smack in the middle of a remote, monster-infested forest.
Just minutes ago, he had escaped a Caterpie nest, only to stumble into a thicket inhabited by Beedrill.
Everyone knows Beedrill are aggressive, territorial, and easily provoked. If you enter their turf, there's a 99.9% chance you'll be attacked.
Staring at the Beedrill in front of him—its red eyes gleaming and twin white poison stingers flashing ominously in the shadows—Hayato gulped.
If those stingers pierced his body, his journey as a Pokémon Trainer would end before it even began.
"Bzzzz!"
The Beedrill buzzed menacingly. Hayato was sure that wasn't a friendly greeting.
Sure enough, the surrounding bushes rustled. More ruby-red eyes emerged from the shadows.
Hayato bolted.
The sound of Beedrill wings flapping was right behind him.
A fork in the forest path appeared ahead. Hayato felt like he was playing Temple Run.
"Thwack!"
Pain shot through his waist—he'd been stung.
Owwww! That Beedrill's poison sting hurt like crazy!
Was this the end? Hayato thought bitterly.
Just then, a river appeared to his left.
Tears of joy nearly welled up in his eyes.
He dove in without hesitation.
Thank Arceus he'd learned to swim before transmigrating.
Water rushed into his ears and nose. Holding his breath, Hayato fumbled around and grabbed something hard.
Opening his eyes, he saw a dazed creature covered in red scales.
No way—that was a Magikarp!
The Magikarp flailed, trying to escape. Hayato lost his grip and was swept away by the current.
He now understood the lyrics "cold rain slapping your face"—except it was freezing river water.
His eyes stung, and he couldn't surface.
Above the water, the Beedrill swarm was still circling, clearly unwilling to let him go.
He couldn't stay here.
Holding his breath, Hayato swam downstream.
After about ten meters, he surfaced for air, then dove again.
He had no idea how long he swam, but once he was sure the Beedrill weren't chasing him, he climbed ashore.
Looking at his reflection in the water, he saw a handsome ten-year-old face.
Yep, still me. Even at ten, I'm a looker.
His clothes were soaked from the chaos.
Earlier, he'd noticed the forest leaves turning yellow—probably autumn.
He was still wearing his pre-transmigration outfit: white T-shirt, blue sports jacket, and gray sweatpants.
After confirming the area was safe, Hayato stripped off his jacket to inspect the Beedrill sting.
Thanks to his clothes, the semi-transparent purple stinger hadn't fully pierced his skin.
He pulled it out with a leaf. The skin around the wound was faintly purple and burning.
Yep—he was poisoned.
Despair crept in.
When Pokémon are poisoned, their HP slowly drains. What about humans?
He didn't want to find out.
Then his stomach growled.
Great. Just great.
He remembered seeing fruit-like objects on the trees earlier—probably Berries.
Unlike regular fruit, Berries have special effects.
Like Cheri Berries for paralysis, Rawst Berries for burns, and what he needed most now—Pecha Berries for poison.
But would they work on humans?
Besides Berries, he'd seen regular fish in the river.
Just as he suspected—this world had both Pokémon and normal animals.
Hayato laid his jacket down and rested. That chase had drained him.
Through the canopy, he gazed at the clear sky.
His top priority: escape the forest, find a town, and get treatment.
Finding a Pecha Berry tree in this massive forest? Not likely.
As he pondered, something poked his waist.
He sat up and reached into his jacket pocket—pulling out a small purple sphere.
He must've triggered something, because the sphere expanded in his hand.
When he saw its design—purple top, white bottom, white button, and a bold "M" logo—he froze.
A Master Ball?!
How?!
He pressed the button. With a click, the ball opened, releasing a beam of white light.
From the light emerged a Pokémon covered in orange feathers.
Well, mostly orange. Its chest and neck were white, resembling a napkin tucked under a Westerner's collar.
"Caw!"
The Pokémon clumsily held its head with its wings, staring blankly with round eyes.
Hayato stared at it.
It stared back.
Suddenly, a flood of information filled Hayato's mind:

Hayato was stunned.
This was the first Pokémon he had modified for that big order!
A shiny Cramorant from Galar, with absurdly maxed-out stats and ridiculous moves—his own joke creation.
Even the software he used to modify Pokémon had transmigrated with him.
He could see its interface in his mind:
