The night grew darker.
Zangetsu returned to the Hidden Mist camp. Using his Hydrification Technique, he slipped past the patrols and into the Hozuki clan's area.
In a certain tent, he looked down at the peacefully sleeping Hozuki Kengetsu, who seemed to be having a pleasant dream.
"Hozuki Kengetsu," Zangetsu said, kicking him awake.
"Huh? Who—?!" Kengetsu started to shout, but Zangetsu stopped him.
With a glare from his Sharingan, Zangetsu activated a simple genjutsu, paralyzing Kengetsu's body. But the terror in Kengetsu's eyes was clear. The Sharingan! He never imagined he would see those legendary eyes on Zangetsu. Is this an Uchiha imposter? he wondered.
"You look surprised," Zangetsu said with a playful smile. "Is it because I'm alive, or because of these eyes? Or both? In a way, I have you to thank for this opportunity. So, as a thank you, I've decided to share these intoxicating eyes with you. And your father, too. Neither of you will be left out. Are you ready?"
Zangetsu's tomoe spun, forming the beautiful, four-leaf clover pattern of his Mangekyo.
Three Thousand Phantom Worlds!
Kengetsu's body went limp and fell back onto his bed. His spirit had been pulled into the illusory space.
"What a waste. It didn't even take 10% of my spiritual energy," Zangetsu scoffed. He had expected more from a Chunin. Kengetsu's mind was completely obliterated within the phantom worlds.
After dealing with Kengetsu, Zangetsu found his father's tent and repeated the process.
"So this is a Jonin-level ninja. His spirit and will are much stronger than that weakling Kengetsu, but still not as much trouble as I thought. It only took 50% of my spiritual energy to hold him."
"Even in this state, with only 50% of my mind controlling my body, it just feels like I have a cold. I'm a bit slower, but I can still maintain the overall combat ability of an Elite Jonin. With the Mangekyo, my strength hasn't really been affected."

After the father's spirit was also crushed, Zangetsu left.
All that remained was Kiri, the scout captain. Zangetsu found him in the scout team's area. He had indeed survived his encounter with the Konoha team, but he was heavily bandaged.
"Captain Kiri, you don't look so good," Zangetsu said after immobilizing him with genjutsu. "I know you have a lot of questions. But don't worry, I'll tell you everything… after you're dead."
Looking into Kiri's terrified and disbelieving eyes, Zangetsu activated Three Thousand Phantom Worlds.
The next day, the Hidden Mist ninja discovered the bodies of the three men. It caused a huge uproar. They had died silently within the heavily guarded camp. The fear that a Konoha assassin could move so freely among them was terrifying. But what was most horrifying was that the medics could find no cause of death. There wasn't a single fatal wound on their bodies.
If a mysterious Konoha ninja could do this to them, could they do it to anyone else? The thought was chilling.
