Startled by the sudden yell, Axelle didn't hesitate to bust the door open. It was already open though.
"What happened?! Are you guys okay??" She asked. She stared at the empty spot where Perry and Rexine previously were. Hastily, Axelle looked around, fearing their sudden disappearance.
"Guys!!??" Axelle yelled out one last time, before entering with caution. Christian followed behind Axelle, Entering. And just like that, the rest of them followed in after each other.
Axelle froze, seeing Perry and Rexine stand over two dead and bled out bodies. Rexine was a little confused, but silently she assumed that Perry knew the two people.
It wasn't until Christian and Ruby stepped forward to see that they realized.
It was Perry's foster parents. Ruby was.. immediately heart broken. She felt bad. It wasn't her fault at any level, but she could see the pain on Perry's face.
"Perry…" She quietly called out to Perry.
"... No." Perry refused to believe it. Perry didn't have the healthiest relationship with them, but that doesn't mean she hated them.
"No.. No.. No!" Perry averted her gaze, turning her head and shutting her eyes as that was the only thing she managed to utter.
Ruby stepped forward, placing a hand on Perry's shoulder. She'd always been there for Ruby, so she wanted to do the same for Perry.
"Hey. let's.. get out of this room, okay?" Ruby suggested, leading Perry out. As for Christian, he was watching the whole thing, still processing it. Of course, he wasn't heartless, even if he hated Perry.
He did care, as much as he hated to admit it.
He then rushed after Ruby and Perry, standing beside Ruby. He didn't know what to say. He knew anything that came out of his mouth aimed at Perry, even if his intentions were good, would sound horrible and only make it worse.
Christian knew Perry was pretty resilient. But he'd, again, never admit it. And seeing her like this.. Did something to him. He didn't say anything, instead watched from the far side while Ruby tried to calm Perry down.
Perry was holding back tears, refusing to show any sign of sadness. But Ruby insisted it was fine.
"Perry, you just saw… your parents, biological or not, dead. You're allowed to cry! Don't hold it in, it'll just get worse!!" Ruby said, immensely worried and concerned for her.
"...yeah, idiot." Christian muttered quietly.
"...Listen to Ruby." He said, looking away, advising the best he could without sounding as if he cared. But he did.
"..." Perry said nothing. She listened to Christian. But before that, sat with Ruby in the corner of the room, Christian leaning against the wall nearby Perry. He didn't say anything. He stood close by though, unknowingly, it spoke volumes. Arms crossed and eyes closed, only listening.
The other exited the room after watching the scene from behind the door, a bit awkward. Axelle and Maverick approached, Maverick innocently, with his hands behind his back. Axelle stood close by for emotional support, as well as Maverick that kind of.. wanted to be there? He wasn't sure himself.
Rexine felt bad, but knew it was best to leave Perry alone for now. Eli.m wasn't sure what to think. Of course he felt bad too, but he wasn't a very… feely person. So, he stood beside Rexine awkwardly.
"...How long you known that lot?" Eli asked, glancing at Ruby, Perry and Christian then back at Rexine.
"Honestly… A week or two before we left. But.. they're close to us, and great friends, even if we weren't." Rexine replied, her hands in her pockets.
"Yeah, figures." Waylen interjected, leaning against the wall, sitting on the floor, looking up at the two of them with a slight smirk.
"Shut it, lad. To me, it sounds as if they didn't know better." Eli defended. Waylen raised an eyebrow, his smirk widening.
"Oho? Defending them, I see?" He teased Eli.
"Mate, just sayin' there's more to the bloody story than you hear." He said, shooting Waylen a partially annoyed glare.
"...Well, it definitely was stupid to leave like that. But.. Ivy was more important to us, back then. She's our sister. Even if not biologically." Rexine explained calmly.
Eli processed Rexine's words, his eyes widening. But before the ginger could say anything, Christian butted in.
"YOU— You guys aren't biological siblings?!?!" he exclaimed, his eyebrows shot up.
"Well, technically—" before Rexine could even start to explain, Christian cut her off.
"Hold— No, no, no, no, no, no. You're telling me, Ivy isn't a biological sibling to you!? Then is the blue head here biological??" he asked, shoving his hands into his pockets as he pushed himself off the wall.
"What? Yeah, Maverick is. But long story short, Ivy might not be blood related, but she's still our sister. And we grew up with her." Rexine defended. She was aware that she hadn't told them about it. But blood related or not, Ivy meant alot to her and Maverick.
"...I ain't mad, but don't you think we at least deserved to know that?"
Rexine ultimately sighed. She didn't have a witty comeback or defense line. Christian was right. After everything they went through to help Rexine and Maverick, not to mention, being chased by Ivy, they did deserve to know.
"I'm… Sorry. I don't have an excuse. I should've told you."
"It's fine. I get it. I have two younger brothers that aren't blood related but I'd do anything for, afterall." Perry's voice cut through the conversation.
"Let's keep moving. We can't stay here forever. We now know The organization can't effortlessly track us, so let's get out of here." Perry suggested, sighing.
Christian raised an eyebrow. But even he knew better than to say anything to piss off Perry right now.
Ruby glanced at Perry, her beaming smile back. Ruby opened the door, holding it open for everyone else.
"Dude, are we sure smelling too much blood is good for us?" Waylen commented, as he exited the storage room after Christian.
"Well we can't be sure.." Maverick said following behind Waylen, covering his nose.
They all exited the store, gasping for air, since that place reeked of blood way more than the streets outside, oddly enough.
"Hey, where's our van??" Maverick asked, pointing in the direction it was parked at before they entered the store.
