Chapter 63 - CHAPTER 63 (S3)

"What was her number again?" Darren sighed.

"You don't remember, really? What kind of brother are you?"

"Oh please. If I'm that bad, do you remember her number, ah??" Darren sighed.

"Shut up. You were the one who got a phone first. You should technically have it memorized." Dave said, placing his arm on Darren's shoulder, peeking over his shoulder at the blank phone screen.

"Let's just get out of here before those psychos come back here," Darren sighed and put his phone into his pocket.

"What was with that woman anyway? She pisses me off. Big time." Darren muttered, brushing Dave's hand off his shoulder, walking out of the room.

"Seriously though, how are we going to get in touch with her or maybe even her friends? This is impossible," Dave sighed and plopped himself on the couch, his legs dangling off it.

"Can't you message her?" Dave suggested.

"Well, Dave, I haven't started a chat with her since we only ever spoke in real life." Darren said, leaning over the backrest of the couch, glaring down at Dave.

"What do we do, then?" Dave sighed, averting his gaze, glancing outside.

Dave and Darren; two identical— no, not identical. Yet, twins. Dave had brown hair, going a bit below his neck. His eyes were heterochromic. His right eye is an Onyx brown, and his left eye visibly a light green. His skin identical to Darren, almost snow white.

Darren had shorter and slightly lighter hair colour compared to Dave's. Mainly, Darren had green eyes. Same skin colour, and he was only slightly taller than Dave.

"There's nothing much we can do, you know. Maybe the best thing we can do is get out of this house." Darren replied, now walking towards the window behind the TV.

"Get out? Are you insane?? We'll be eaten alive!" Dave exclaimed, abruptly sitting up on the couch, looking at Darren as if he was insane.

"Well what do you expect will happen if all we do is rot in here? For sure we'll eventually have to go out. She won't walk herself in here expecting us." Darren said, turning around and meeting Dave's gaze.

"Don't you 'eventually' me, buddy boy. We're already low on food, yeah, but we'd be risking our life if we went out without a plan." Dave said, now fully sitting on the couch.

"So? and how do we know if she's already dead and infected or not?" Darren said, this time he started walking towards the kitchen, grabbing the wooden bat he always used.

"We're going. End of discussion." Darren said, taking a backpack and stuffing it with food and water.

"Dude, we have to at least plan it a bit, don't we??" Dave said, now slowly standing up.

Dave made his way, and creeped up behind Darren, looking over his shoulder curiously at what Darren was putting into the bag.

"We don't need gum, Darren." Dave quietly spoke, startling Darren. He elbowed Dave's stomach as he pushed past him.

"It's just in case, alright?" He defended himself lazily.

"Hey, where's our van??" Maverick asked, pointing in the direction it was parked at before they entered the store.

Rexine rolled her eyes and sighed. She averted his finger to point at the two vans which were parked parallel to each other.

"It's over there, Maverick." Rexine said, her hand leaving Maverick's, as she started walking towards the van.

Ruby caught up with her pace, and smiled.

"Can your van fit… 8 people?" Rexine asked. Ruby thought for a moment, and smiled warmly before nodding.

"Yeah, definitely!" She said, crossing the road with Rexine. Rexine smiled back, and sighed, a sigh of relief.

"Thank god." she chuckled, along with Ruby.

"Well, that makes eight people in the van, I guess…" Waylen sighed.

"Glad you know how to count, Shortie. We'll be needing those skills." Maverick teased Waylen, walking beside him.

"Who are you callin' shortie?!?! You're like a damn giraffe!" Waylen defended himself, already irritated.

"You. I'm calling you Shortie. Who else here would I possibly call that?" Maverick said, knowing hit a nerve. People might call him annoying or even mean, but that's just kind of how he got along with people.

Waylen scowled. He then pointed at the artificial redhead walking in front of them. "Her! Not me. She's definitely shorter than me!!" Waylen tried keeping his voice down, but his temper was getting to him.

Axelle, overhearing their conversation, turned her head, flaring straight at Waylen.

"What'd you say, Waylen?!" she yelled, crossing her arms.

"I said, you're shorter than me! That's a fact, not an opinion." Waylen repeated, childishly sticking out his tongue at Axelle.

Axelle scoffed and rolled her eyes. She didn't feel like arguing with Waylen, so she just turned around, continued walking with Eli

But as it turns out, Perry and Christian didn't think that.

Perry accidentally bumped into Christian after tripping on a random item on the ground.

"...What was that for?" Christian asked, not even turning to glance at Perry.

Perry sighed, and crossed her arms. "It was an accident, idiot."

"As if."

"Seriously, the last thing I need is you trying to start another argument with me, Christian." Perry snapped, but didn't raise her voice.

"I'm just sayin', because the last place I want to be is anywhere near you." Christian replied in matter-of-factly tone, shrugging nonchalantly. Although he was arguing, technically, he lacked his usual annoyed and or snarky tone.

"You're acting as if I'd want to be anywhere near you. Which, by the way, I wouldn't want even if my life depended on it." Perry retorted, not looking to meet Christian's gaze either.

"...How's your leg? You seem to be walking just fine." Christian asked, completely off topic. Perry almost choked on her own saliva. She expected a question like that out of Eli even, not Christian.

"...Eh? Oh.. well it's better.. I guess? But it's still hard to walk properly.." Perry managed to stutter out, now her head completely turned away from Christian.

"Oh?~ Is the Blondie worried?" Maverick butted in their conversation, making Christian get defensive.

"Me? Worried and Perry in the same sentence? As if. Dream all you want, I was just asking to make sure she wouldn't drag us down if she couldn't walk properly." Christian explained defensively, denying Maverick's claim.

"Pfft. Work on your excuses, Blondie." Maverick teased.
