Gosh. . they just met, yet they're already fighting. But, I can't be one to say that.
Finally, Ruby had enough of it, interrupting both of them.
"Jeez guys! Can you stop arguing already?! We barely know each other and yet an argument fits into the conversation?!?" She yelled, shutting them up for good.
"Yeah, no, seriously, can we all just lay it down for a second? Take some time to cool off, please. And excuse the behaviour." Axelle supported Ruby's point. It was silent. But Eli spoke up.
"I suppose this place ain't that dodgy. ." the ginger muttered quietly.
4:29PM
It's been approximately 20 minutes since the ginger— Eli, has been sitting in Christians dining room, cleaning the blood off his own.. broomstick? I would guess just as much.
Ruby poked her head in the dining room, intrigued, looking at Eli.
"what're you doing?" she questioned, walking into the dining area.
"Trying to get the blood off this thing." He answered, looking up from the so-called weapon, up at Ruby.
"Ah. . Are you hungry?" Ruby asked, her hands behind her back.
"I suppose I could use some energy. What do ya mates have?"
Ruby walked slightly closer, holding out a bag of chips and a water bottle.
"Will this suffice?" She asked, placing the things on the dining table beside Eli.
"I suppose. ." He replied, placing his 'weapon' on the table, then taking the food.
"Also, I apologize for earlier. . . Christian has a speciality for arguing with people." Ruby stated, smiling politely, Apologizing on Christians behalf.
"Geez, that girl really cares too much—"
I immediately jolted, hearing Christian's voice behind me. I covered my mouth to prevent myself from gasping. I turned around, and sure enough it was that Idiot.
"What the hell, dude?!" I yelled at Christian, probably catching Ruby and Eli's attention.
"What? I was enjoying the sight with you."
"You could've at least stood beside me, not behind! You almost gave me a freaking heart attack!"
"It's not my fault you're so on edge today, is it?"
"Oh please. Who was it that left me alone in a store? It definitely IS your fault."
"That was necessary, alright?! If I hadn't done that then we'd all be dead by now."
"Oh, what if you guys hadn't arrived on time back then, huh? My leg was injured, I couldn't have possibly run away. Tell me then who's fault that would've been!"
Christian sighed, gritting his teeth and clenched his fists. He ran a hand through his hair, clearly frustrated. I looked away, crossing my arms. What's his deal all of a sudden? I leaned against the wall for support, leaning my leg against it, placing my crutches beside me.
"Well we DID arrive on time, didn't we?! So why do you care so much about the past?!?! Just let it go! Can't you just accept the fact you're doing fine now!?"
"Why do I care?! Why DON'T you care enough?? Oh I know. Because you obviously wouldn't give a single damn if I DID turn into a zombie."
"Wh— The bullshit kind of information are you on, Perry?! Of course I'd give a damn! I'm just stating that you are fine, aren't you? And you are not a zombie, right?!"
I stayed silent. Christian scowled, looking away, clearly regretting his words. He would never admit what he just did if he was serious. I know that for a fact. I sighed.
"Yeah right. You'd never admit it, even if your life depended on it. I know you better than that, you jerk!"
"Pfft. As if! I'm great at words. Though it's true, I'd never admit anything to you. That was merely a slip of the tongue. Infact, I'd wish you stayed there longer!"
"What?! What's your deal, seriously?! I swear to god, if you want me dead, just kill me already! I've heard enough of your annoying voice trying to convince me That this, my leg being broken, is NOT your fault!"
"Yeah, because it's NOT my fault! You can't blame me for something I didn't do, can ya?!"
"Oh really? Then I'd like to know who did it! I was unconscious when this happened so how on god's green earth is it my fault?!"
"Obviously it's your fault! If you hadn't—"
"GUYS!" Nicole's voice cut through the argument, the room silent for a moment and two.
"Can you guys seriously mature up a bit?? We're in the middle of a literal zombie apocalypse and You both are fighting as if this were some game where you can re-freaking-spawn!"
He sighed, walking up to both of us, standing in between, facing Christian, his back to me.
"You! Stop Angering her more than she already is! She's already gone through enough today, and damn right because of us three."
He defended me, but then turned around, meeting my gaze.
"And you! Stop with the Darn 'what ifs'! You're already safe inside a house with people that'll protect you, freaking correct me if i'm wrong. So stop bringing up more topics to argue about! Everyone is tired, it's been a long day for all of us here. So if you both would Please stop shouting while Ruby is trying to make our new comrade feel better, Please for the love of god stop yelling at each other for one freaking second!"
Everyone fell silent, including Ruby and Eli who were watching Nicole's outburst.
It took a few moments, but Ruby glanced at Nicole, then back at Eli, chuckling awkwardly towards him.
"Sorry about. . that, again. . ." She muttered to him quietly. Ruby sighed, walking towards us.
"Can we all just. . Calm down a bit? It's true that today was rough, so please stop arguing, and go cool off, please." She said, in her usual calm and sweet voice, something I could never be mad at, same going for the other two. We all turned to head to the living room, as she pointed, asking for us to calm down.
We sat on the couch, Nicole in the middle, in between me and Christian. Ruby and Eli followed after us not long, sitting on another sofa at the side.
"Anyone up for uno?" Ruby said, spamming the deck on uno held up by a rubber band, onto the coffee table.
"Yeah.. I'm up for it." I said.
"Same, I'll play." Nicole agreed
"Yeah. . me too." Eli spoke.
All eyes landed on Christian, waiting for his response. He grumbled, looking away.
"Fine." He said, crossing his arms.
Ruby smiled happily, distributing the cards among all 5 of us.
"Hey, where are the other two?" I asked, referring to Axelle and Waylen.
"We've all been arguing, they must've heard it, right?" I added. Ruby sighed.
"They knocked out cold. They're both on Christian's bed after a really serious argument about why 4 pluses can't be stacked on eachother." Ruby explained. Nicole snickered, taking a look at his cards. I also took mine.
We started the match, and unfortunately Nicole moved to the other sofa, because three people on one was too 'cramped' while playing uno. When it was Christians turn, he smugly put two plus 4's for me. But luckily, I put another one on top of his, causing it to land 12 cards to Eli. He groaned, as he started counting the cards he took.
"Hey, you can't stack a 4 plus." Christian turned to me.
"it's in the rules, idiot."
"Well the rules differ depending on who's playing."
"Oh really? Then a new rule. Christian has to take 10 cards each time he plays a blue card."
"Well thank god i don't have any blues, then."
"Guys, come on. You can obviously stack 4 pluses. We've always done that!" Ruby interrupted.
"Agreed. Uno officials have no idea how to play their own game, Innit?" He said, taking his 12 cards.
"Y'know, you kind of just agreed to your own loss. Good luck recovering from 12 cards."
"Besides, you just stacked two plus 4's for Perry. So does this only apply to the rest of us, huh?" Nicole asked with a smirk. Christian scoffed.
"Obviously," He replied sarcastically yet smugly. "It only doesn't apply to the best of the best—" He bragged.
5:30PM
"Are you serious?!" Christian slammed his 17 cards onto the table with a long and frustrated sigh, coming last, losing at least 8 matches out of 10.
"Definitely deserved." I smirked, as I came first in most matches.
