Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Floor 0, Part 1

*Ding*

"Player has completed the tutorial."

"Player has leveled up, current player level is 2."

"4 stat points will be awarded."

"New Skill has been discovered: Aura-imbued sword."

"Players' Divine trait will be awarded now."

"Player's Divine Trait has been selected to be Necromancy."

"Player will now be transported to Floor 0 of the tower."

Jolted awake, Sunny glanced around his surroundings. He was in a large plains biome, with a large rustic village with a trading area, and a strange, dark forest to the side, blanketed in darkness.

People said that the floors were massive, but this is the size of a hometown, and what's up with that creepy forest?

*Ding*

"Floor 0 quest has been assigned."

"Player is required to defeat 100 goblins and kill the goblin king to move on to floor 1."

Isn't floor zero supposed to be easy? There's no way I can kill that many goblins at my level.

I should try out my Divine Trait, but how would necromancy even help? Well, I guess I have no better option than this, I'd better check around the floor some.

After a few minutes of walking, Sunny arrived at the dark forest to the side of the bustling village. There were tall trees that created a canopy inside the forest, blocking most of the light that came in.

I can sense around 5 monsters to my right. 2 goblin archers and 3 goblin swordsmen, who haven't noticed me yet.

Launching from the dark forest ground, Sunny hopped tree to tree, trying to find the goblins.

500 meters away, the goblins had finally noticed him, but before they could even attack, Sunny summoned his sword and, with one command, began the fight.

"Summon Sword Aura."

With that command, his sword began to glow once again. Its dark mist radiating off the sharp, cold blade, it was practically begging to tase blood.

Pushing off the branch of the tree, Sunny pulled back his sword and, with one large swing, launched a massive arc of sword aura. It flew through the air, slicing through all the branches in its way until it reached its target. Once it hit the first goblin in the group, a large explosion of magical energy vaporized everything in a 20m radius.

Walking over to the burned remains, a message appeared,

*Ding*

"Player has leveled up. Current player level is [3]."

"Would you like to use skill [Necromancy]?"

I should give this a try.

"Activate Necromancy."

That simple command aroused the souls of the dead goblins in front of Sunny. With a soul-shattering cry, the shadow of the goblins slowly rose from their corpses in a dark blue and purple thick fog. Once they had fully risen, they slowly faded away.

*Ding*

"5 undead soldiers have been imprinted into storage."

"Current spirit storage is at 5/10."

"Your storage will increase each level."

Hmm, I guess I should be able to save some time using these guys. I guess I should get to work. I need to get done with this quest by sundown.

**1 hour later, South Side of the Dark Forest**

*Ding*

"45/100 goblins killed."

"0/1 Goblin Kings Killed."

"Player has leveled up, current player level: [7]."

"14 stat points are ready to be assigned."

Nice, I'm about halfway done, but I still have to find the goblin king. I should invest some stat points before I finish the quest, but what build should I go for?

Necromancy needs magic power, but I've been mainly using a sword so far. Well, I guess I'll put 7 in magic power, 4 in strength, and 3 in agility. That should be good enough for the time being.

I should get back to the hunt...

"Summon Undead Soldiers."

*Ding*

"Summoning Undead Soldiers, Current Amount in Storage [40/40]."

With that command, the vast army of undead goblins rose from the ground in a dark fog covering the entire forest floor, and with a commanding voice, Sunny called out,

"Begin."

The vast army standing still suddenly burst forward. The formation of goblin archers skewed all of the others in front of them, and the front line of goblin swordsmen charged forward and finished off the ones still alive.

Hmm, that worked better than I thought. I assumed they would be weak, but with these numbers, I could take out the entire floor.

*Ding*

"Player has leveled up. Current player level is [9]."

"100/100 goblins have been exterminated."

"4 stat points are available for use."

"Undead spirit storage has expanded to 80 slots."

I guess I'll put 2 stat points into Strength and 2 into Magic power. A necromancer build would be the best, but I don't want to be defenseless.

"Open player stats menu."

Stats:

Strength: 4

Agility: 4.5

Health: 100%

Magic Power: 12

Divine trait: Necromancy [Basic Proficiency]

Skills:

-Aura-imbued sword

I guess the goblin king is next, but I'm not strong enough right now. I wonder if I could sell some goblin corpses for some magic gear in town. I need to head in that direction anyway, so I might as well try.
