-----------------------------------------
By this point, he'd already gotten used to scanning his status for any changes in a single glance.
'I was definitely expecting large changes, but this is a nice surprise. My attributes practically doubled.'
'If the change is this significant between minor ranks, what would it be like going from Acolyte to Apprentice?' He thought with a grin on his face.
'System'
YES ORION
'I know I've asked this before, but why are my mana and vitality stats so high, they've completely overtaken the rest?'
AS MENTIONED BEFORE, YOU HAVE A HEAD START AND YOUR ATTRIBUTES REFLECT THAT. THE DISPARITY BETWEEN THEM IS A RESULT OF THE LIMITATIONS OF YOUR PHYSICAL BODY. YOU ARE JUST SIX AFTER ALL.
'Right, so my attributes are meant to be absurd for my age, but my body limits my physical attributes.'
YES
'How about my rank? Do all peak acolytes have the same attribute value?'
YOU HAVE GREATER ATTRIBUTES THAN OTHERS OF YOUR RANK. THOUGH THE DISPARITY MIGHT BE LOW, IT WILL ONLY INCREASE EXPONENTIALLY AS YOU PROGRESS.
'Noted,' He replied, adding the information to his mind.
'I can freely practice my innate skills now,' He thought excitedly.
The proficiency for his innate skills had increased by a rank over the past years. He'd done his best to practice them during his free time, but his mana had limited the rate at which he practiced.
He couldn't help it; the power of his skills was far greater than his baby attributes could manage, especially 'The Seer'.
Since the incident with his mother, he hadn't been able to see the future or past; the only way he could grind was by trying to view other locations, and even that took a lot of mana to maintain.
Temporal distortion was less mana-consuming but far trickier; a single mistake could have permanently injured him; fortunately, he had the system's guidance.
Now that his mana had doubled, he could practice twice as much, though he had a feeling it would take a very long while before his proficiency could increase again.
'Now for the most important part. Gotta say, seeing the same quest on the screen for five years was a bit frustrating. But finally'
'Claim reward system,' He said mentally.
CLAIMING REWARD
He sat cross-legged on his bed, waiting for whatever change the reward would cause.
He didn't have to wait long as he soon started feeling mana converging in his eyes, he could tell the mana didn't come from his nexus, the mana simply appeared courtesy of the system.
He half expected to feel pain from this procedure, but surprisingly, all he felt was discomfort like numerous dirt particles swirling around his eyes, yet he couldn't clean them off, a truly surreal experience.
He kept his eyes shut, waiting for the process to end.
Ten minutes later, the discomfort had subsided, and he opened his eyelids and looked around, trying to sense any change.
Yet he felt no difference, no magical lines all around him or spirits floating around, just his same old room.
He stood up and walked toward a mirror to check if anything had changed physically.
He looked in the mirror, turning side to side, still nothing.
'Uhh, system, I think something went wrong.'
CHECK YOUR STATUS
'Right'
'STATUS,' he called out mentally.
------------------------------------
------------------------------------
Acquired skills:
*Eye of truth and façade (Low proficiency)
The ability to access the information of another party with a single glance in the form of a status screen and alter your perceived strength from others. Heavily depends on proficiency.
-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------
He quickly skipped over the rest of the status and focused on where a change occurred.
'Ohh, that explains it, for a second there I thought it was a skill issue'
'This, this is a real game changer system, the ability to view a person's information will be incredibly useful.'
'Still, heavily dependent on proficiency doesn't sound encouraging,' He thought, his brows furrowing.
'Mind explaining the limit for low proficiency?'
DEPENDENCY ORION, I SUGGEST YOU EXPLORE THE LIMITS OF YOUR SKILLS YOURSELF. IT IS YOURS AFTER ALL.
'Tch, guess you are right, but it's late right now and I can't just go running around testing my skill on random people,' He thought with a frown.
'Guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow'
He walked back towards his bed, tucking himself in, his mind still on the changes that occurred tonight.
'Another step towards overwhelming strength,' He thought with a grin on his face.
He slept off before long.
The next morning arrived.
Orion could be seen on the training ground, sitting on the floor and staring at the sky.
'No one!!, it worked for no one system,' He shouted mentally.
