-----------------------------------------

Orion checked through his status, satisfied by the changes that had occurred over the past five years.

It may not seem like much, but he alone knew how hard he'd worked to get to this level.

Thankfully, the system wasn't just there to show him his stats and deliver quests; it also advised him on optimum training methods.

He'd followed them day and night, from postures and methods for faster mana absorption to tips on proper exercises for body development.

Mana may be the most important part of an individual's strength, but exercises and calisthenics go a long way in body coordination and development, especially at a young age.

At first, he was skeptical; on earth, children his age weren't meant to be exercising up to this level. He was a former medical student, so he knew the health hazards.

The system assured him nothing was wrong with it, another point on the list of abnormals.

'System, how long before I complete the quest?'

AT YOUR PRESENT RATE OF DEVELOPMENT, IT WOULD TAKE APPROXIMATELY 14 DAYS

'So about two weeks, that should be around a week after Lyrielle leaves,' he mused.

'Right, so the grind continues,' he thought while opening the door to his room.

He stepped inside to meet a pristinely clean room, the floors sparkling, the sheets changed, and a nice smell wafting around.

'The maids must have come, gotta say, excluding the whole etiquette shenanigans, nobility has its perks. Thanks system'

YOU ARE WELCOME, ORION.

He quickly took off his training clothes, placing them in a basket before stepping into the bathroom.

Thirty minutes later, he was standing in front of another door.

"Let's do this, Orion, just gotta endure the cringe," He muttered, trying to encourage himself.

He knocked, opened the door, and walked in.

"Welcome, Orion, 25 minutes early. So you are five minutes late."

He turned towards the speaker, an aged lady with silver hair tied up in a knot, a frameless glasses on her stern and composed face. She was seated behind a desk, reading what one could only refer to as a tome.

"I'm sorry, Lady Agatha, I got caught up in sword practice," He replied, taking a step towards her.

'Fucking five minutes late,' he thought, but he didn't dare say it out loud.

"The door, Orion," she said without taking her eyes off the book.

"Yes, ma'am," He said, turning to close the door.

'Here we go!!'

A WEEK LATER

It was finally time for Lyrielle's departure. Aurora would be accompanying her to the academy to help her get settled before returning a week later.

Orion would be lying if he said he wasn't going to miss this cute elder sister of his; they'd been through a lot together over the years.

Fortunately, they would be granted a month's break every year to relax and catch up with their loved ones. Unfortunately, if things went according to plan, they would only keep missing each other as Orion would be admitted in the same year as her graduation.

Luckily, they'd grown very close over the past six years, and hopefully no amount of distance would change that.

They were all gathered in front of the carriage that would take her and Aurora to the academy.

Orion turned towards his mother, and he could tell she was thinking exactly the same thing he was, though she had encouraged Lyrielle to be independent, she couldn't shake the worry of her children growing distant.

He turned towards his sister again, she was hugging Erevan, saying her last goodbyes. Erevan just patted her head in a fatherly gesture.

She walked towards Orion and stood in front of him, her eyes red and puffy.

They had said their goodbyes already in the house, a whole lot of sobbing, snortling, and consoling. He still had tears and snot all over his body.

They stared at each other for a while before she nodded at him and walked into the carriage.

Aurora entered, and before long, the carriage was on the way.

"It will be your turn soon, and as my heir, I'm sure you would make the chronos family proud," Erevan said with a steady gaze on his son.

"Yes, father," Orion replied, his resolve hardening.

"Hmm," Erevan nodded at him.

"I believe it's time for our combat lesson," Erevan said before a smile broke on his face.

"I can tell you are about to reach the peak of Acolyte rank, truly praiseworthy for a six-year-old."

Erevan had done his best to maintain his composure around his son, especially when it came to matters concerning his potential and growth; he didn't want Orion to grow overconfident.

But deep down, he was terrified by Orion's talent. A six-year-old peak Acolyte rank wasn't just strange, it was unprecedented.

"I think so too, I feel like I'm really close," He replied, staring at his clenched fist.

He was doing his best to pretend like he had no idea when he would break through, and he really wouldn't if it weren't for the system.

"Alright, let's head in, you've got a long road ahead of you," Erevan replied with a smile on his face.

Another week passed with Orion continuing his regular schedule of training and lessons, a truly fulfilling life.

It was late at night, Aurora had arrived earlier today, her mind still shaken by the absence of her daughter, God knows how much they'd cried.

He was currently sitting cross-legged in his room, drawing the last bit of mana required for his transition to peak level.

'Just a little more, I can feel it,' he thought, growing impatient

All of a sudden, he felt a quiet change in his nexus, the familiar juxtaposition of warmth and cold flooding his body, and he could get addicted to it.

The feeling left after a while; he'd successfully transitioned.

'Finally!' he thought, a huge smile forming on his face.
