Chapter 14 - The Key

An entity soaring in the sky lands on the ground, and his landing creates a crack in the ground beneath his feet.

He looks up, and from a distance, he sees the huge round building with walls surrounding it.

His yellow-green eyes glow. He hums and clicks his tongue. "Do I have to waste my energy on those beings roaming inside that building?"

He prepares his feet as he folds his forelegs, and he jumps forward. His jump propels him to t the speed of wind towards the building. Inside the establishment, workers dressed in green polo shirts, and jeans are walking around.

The establishment has white walls, and lights on the ceiling, and there are walls of glass made for people; observing the trees, flowers, and grass on the other side of the walls.

Some of the people wearing yellow shirts or workers are roaming around the area, carrying papers clipped on a clipboard.

"These flowers smell good!"

One of them, a man, bends his back. He sniffs the flowers, inhaling the fragrance of fresh flowers which carves a smile on his lip.

A man is standing in front of the glass wall, and he's looking around at the people across the glass wall.

The light begins to flicker. He looks at the light bulb on the ceiling, and it already disappeared.

"Looking for this?"

A voice enters his ear, and he turns beside him. Before he can manage to utter a single word, his head splits from his neck as his body falls.

There are few witnesses around them, and their eyes widen; filled with fear as they scream.

"Argh! Noises! I hate noisy people!"

Kohlrabi narrows his eyes. He summons wooden spikes, piercing through the flesh of the workers around him.

Standing calmly, Kohlrabi looks around at the people stabbed by the spikes; blood leaking from the opening on their body.

"I shouldn't have wasted my energy killing them."

He looks around, and hums. "But I do need someone to bring me to that flower."

Meanwhile, across the glass wall, a man is trembling while sitting behind a tree. Kohlrabi's eyes turn in a certain direction, his eyes landing on a tree.

The man hiding behind the tree peeks his eyes across it. "Wait, he's gone."

His eyes widen, and he turns his eyes beside him. A pair of yellow-green eyes are locked at him, staring deep into his soul.

"Care to lead me to the flower of Makiling?"

The man's eyes widen at the sight of Kohlrabi standing beside him. The man soon ends up screaming while pee is flowing through his pants.

In the dark alleyway of a street in a barangay, Coseria is walking slowly with her side resting on the wall.

Smoke is coming out of the holes in her body, and half of her head remains torn in half.

"He left me suffering! How could he?! He's always like that!" she groaned.

She senses something, and her head moves upward. Across the alleyway, there are multiple people gathered around; laughing, drinking, and some playing basketball.

Her lips curve upward, and she licks her upper lip. "Food."

A ball bounces on the alleyway but halts in front of it. A boy runs toward the ball, bending his body while picking it.

An elderly woman follows the kid, and she says, "Bruno! Don't run like that! You might stumble."

Before Bruno reaches the ball, the old woman picks him up and carries him away as she walks.

A certain man drops the glass bottle from his hand, and his eyes are wide while gasping.

"EVERYONE–!"

A large head of a venus flytrap with sharp teeth bites his head. The other witnesses what happened, and they all end up scrambling away with petrified eyes.

Multiple flytraps reach them, biting their head off. The others who are running away end up getting stabbed by wooden roots.

Coseria smiles widely. Her body releases a cloud of red smoke while her body regains its missing part; every wound on her body is now sealed.

She looks around, her eyes landing on the same boy, shaking under the table while covering his head with his hands.

"Aw, look at you."

She walks toward him, and her flytraps shrink in her back.

"For you, I will not use my babies. I will just bite your flesh!"

Her loud laughter fills the air. The boy looks around him, he sighs but keeps on shaking.

He crawls out of the table, his eyes roaming around him. Fallen tables, plates, utensils, and fallen motorcycles are around him.

His hand goes across his hiding spot, and suddenly, a green wooden hand grabs his wrist.

"GOT YOU!"

The boy's eyes grow wide in fear, and then, a stone blade cuts the hand in half.

Coseria cries and jumps away. She looks at her left wrist, and green fluid is dripping from it.

"ACACIA!" Coseria moves her eyes up, "I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYES!"

The boy peeks his head out of the table, and his eyes widen at the young woman standing in front of him.

Bruno notices the right hand of the woman which has turned into a giant stone blade.

Acacia speaks coldly. "Devour someone your size."

Her skin turns into wood, and her brown eyes regain their original green color. He bends his neck a bit from side to side.

His green eyes narrow, showing resentment. He covers himself with green energy, serving as his aura.

"How could you do this?! You're such an idiot! Betraying me for a low creature!"

Acacia shakes his head. "Those creatures that you look down on, not all of them deserve to die. I'm talking about those little humans similar to a seed."

Coseria's body jerks in disgust, and her face leans backward as she snarls.

"The majesty will not like your reasoning! You traitor! But don't worry, I'll end your life quickly!"

She bends her knees and releases strong wind pressure. The wind pressure propels her towards him. With her hands open and her nails ready to stab him, she swings them at him.

Acacia swings his blade in different directions at great speed. Coseria's eyes widen as she can feel her hands beginning to become numb. Soon, her hands fall from their place.

"Idiot." Acacia grabbed her head and pushed her down to his knee.

He thrusts his knee upwards, hitting her chin. Acacia didn't let her go. He holds the back of her head and slams her on the ground, and he lifts her.

"Y-You will pay for this–!" Coseria coughed, green fluid dripping from her broken nose.

"Not enough words." Acacia slammed her repeatedly on the ground.

He throws her away and aims his hand in her direction. He releases an energy beam, sending Coseria crashing against a nearby parked truck.

She stands up even if her thighs are shaking. Multiple flytraps sprout from her back, and their bodies become longer as they dash toward him.

"Really?"

Acacia opens his right hand, and he generates tiny yellow orbs on each of his fingertips.

He launches the yellow orbs. Coseria's eyes widen, and holes can be seen on her body.

All flytraps fall to their death with holes in their body. Her thighs give up, and she falls on her knees.

"You said you are smarter than me!" she coughed, green fluid dripping from her lip.

"Indeed, I am," Acacia halts in front of her, looking down at her without showing any mercy, "that is why, I chose to stop you."

"What?!" Coseria's eyes widened.

"You can't do this! You're being brainwashed by those low beings!" her teeth gritted.

"Brainwash?" Acacia yanks her green hair with his left hand, and pulls her face closer to him, "Maybe I am but I will savor every minute of your cries."

He raises her, and he closes his right hand. His veins pulsate from his right hand up to his arm as yellow energy wraps around his right hand.

Coseria shakes her head. "Y-You do not want to do this!"

Acacia smiles in response. "If the majesty will come, then, I will be prepared."

Acacia punches her abdomen, his fist tearing through her abdomen, emerging from her back.

Coseria's eyes are wide as her mouth is dropped open. Acacia smiles, and he watches the green energy from Coseria's body being absorbed by his body.

Acacia drops Coseria's body. Her body is grey and has been reduced to thin without having any nutrients or fats.

Cracks appear on her body until it breaks one by one; turning into a powder. Acacia's body releases green smoke, and his green eyes transform into the color of yellow.

He turns around and sees a boy staring at

him. Acacia blinks and turns his back on him.

"Go back to your family," Acacia said coldly.

He flies toward the sky. While flying he blinks and whispers, "Something feels heavy."

He looks down, and his eyes widen. The boy from earlier is clinging to his right foot while staring at him with a blank expression.

"H-Hey!" Acacia stopped moving in the sky and lifted the boy at the level of his eyes.

He analyzes the boy's appearance, and the boy seems fine but his eyes show an expression of shock and confusion.

"Are you crazy? You could have fallen to your death," Acacia blinks, and he realizes something, "why am I gaining this emotion?!"

Meanwhile, in a park. A woman is sitting on a bench facing a fountain. She hums while her chin is resting on her clasped hands.

"Why am I here?"

She looks down, and she holds her necklace. Her eyes begin to narrow as her brows furrow. "I still don't know the state of my sister. Did she survive? Where is she?"

"Elesia?"

Her eyes widened at the voice calling out her name. She turns her head around and sees the man with scarlet eyes standing feet away from the bench.

He looks calm, and his white hair is long with a ponytail wrapped around his long hair. His body's a little bit muscular but he has a curve.

The most interesting thing about him is the fact that he has scarlet eyes.

"Elesia Enerviya, youngest sister of Clara Enerviya?" he spoke, his voice soothing.

Elesia confirms his question with a nod. Later on, they are both sitting on the bench but their bodies are not touching.

"I was one of her former classmates in the academy in our world. I'm Ash, by the way."

"How did you know me?" Elesia asked, her eyes not fixed on him.

"She was always boasting about you."

"Boasting? About me?" Elesia blinked, she couldn't believe those words.

"No kidding. She always carries a picture of you. She always told us how beautiful and smart you are," Ash chuckles, and he straightens his body, "that you carried the family's genes very well."

Elesia chuckles, and she inhales deeply. "I miss her."

Ash looks at her. "How did you come into the human world?"

Elesia blinks before turning her head towards him. "What do you mean? You mean, this world is the legendary world of humans?"

Her eyes fall. "But my sister told me that this world is solely created as a kid's story."

Ash shakes his head. "But answer my question first, how did you come here?"

Elesia looks up at the sky, analyzing her memories. Her eyes narrow. "Something flashes in front of my eyes. After that, I am now in this unfamiliar world."

Ash clasps his hands together and rests his chin on it. "Strange. How can this happen?"

He looks down at the skin of his forearms. He stands up and looks up at the sky as Elesia turns her eyes at him.

"Why?" she asked.

Ash swallows the lump in his throat while staring at the sky. "It's happening. He's attacking the endangered flower."

"Wait! What flower?" Elesia stood from her seat.

"It doesn't matter. You stay there!" Ash began to run in a certain direction."
