In the dark forest, Hellagur and others followed Dino silently forward.
The cold wind blew, and it was a bit bitingly cold.
The cobblestone road under Hellagur's feet was clean and tidy, without a single fallen leaf, and every stone looked exactly the same.
The group walked along the cobblestone road for ten minutes, and a garden-like place appeared in front of them.
The garden is circular, with many roads extending out from the center. No one knows where they lead to. The cobblestone road that Herag and his friends are on is just one of them.
There is a fountain in the center of the garden, splashing water.
Herag noticed that there were people in the garden. He counted eight people in total, standing in groups of three or four.
When Dino arrived, they all looked over.
An old lady wearing a tall grey hat and a grey robe came over. She looked to be in her sixties or seventies. She looked at Herag and the others and said, "Dino, I heard that a beautiful and outstanding lady will be joining us in Augustus this time. Who is she?"
Dino smiled and said, "Don't worry, Professor Nina. You can take her back after the test is over."
He turned around and looked at Lillian, beckoning, "Lillian, come here, this is Professor Nina from Augustus College."
"Professor Nina!" Lillian saluted timidly, looking like a noble lady, with proper manners and a hint of shyness.
Herag almost laughed out loud when he saw this scene. This woman was pretending.
The more Nina looked at it, the more she liked it. She pulled Lillian over and said, "Yeah, not bad!"
The other seven wizards also came over at this time, both men and women, and the aura they exuded was not simple.
Dino looked at the wizard apprentices behind him and shouted, "Those with tokens stand on my left, and those without tokens stand on my right."
The eleven wizard apprentices quickly split into two teams. There were seven wizard apprentices like Hellagur and Lillian who had tokens, and only four who did not.
Herag was somewhat surprised that Fergal didn't have a token either.
Dino took out a crystal ball and held it in his left hand. He then said to the wizard apprentices in the two rows on his left and right, "Next, we will conduct the wizard aptitude test. The maximum score is 100. The higher the score, the better the aptitude."
"It's important to note that aptitude isn't everything. In the wizarding world, knowledge and hard work are always more important. Good aptitude only means you can progress faster, but it doesn't mean you don't have to work hard."
"Herag, you go first."
Herag stood in the first row and walked up first.
"Put your hand on it, input magic power, and relax." Dino reminded.
Hellagur did as he was told, put his hand on it, and injected a trace of magic power into the crystal ball.
White mist immediately surged up in the crystal ball, and then condensed into the number seventy-five.
"Herag, seventy-five! Very good!" Dino patted Herag's shoulder to express his encouragement.
This number was beyond Herag's own expectations. He thought he would be a waste script of forty or fifty.
A middle-aged man with a sinister face walked over. He stared at the Fireball Ring on Hellagur's hand and said, "If I'm not mistaken, you have the token of our Moonlight Glade on your hand."
"Yes, sir." Herag felt a strong sense of oppression when he approached. It was not intentional on the part of the other party, but the aura that was unintentionally revealed in his gestures.
Dino patted Hellagur's shoulder, and the pressure Hellagur felt immediately disappeared. Dino introduced him, "This is Larry Church, a powerful wizard from Moonglade. He will take you back later."
"Mr. Larry." Hellagur saluted politely.
Lali gave him an expressionless look, nodded slightly and said, "Well, you come with me later."
"The second one is Lillian." Dino continued the test.
Lillian was standing behind Hellagur, so she was the second one to be tested.
"Eighty-seven!"
The number is clearly displayed in the crystal ball.
"Very good! Miss Lillian!" Dino praised.
"Thank you!" Lillian said, holding up her skirt.
Nina came over and took Lillian's hand. She couldn't help but smile and kept whispering in Lillian's ear. No one except them could hear what she was saying.
The wizard apprentice holding the token quickly completed the test. After Lillian, there were no more highly qualified ones. The best one only scored 72 points, and the worst one had only 15 points.
Herag noticed that the boy with fifteen points was the one who was hung on the bow of the boat by Fergal to fish as soon as he got on the boat. His name seemed to be Joshua.
Joshua looked dejected and worried at the moment. His token was a quill pen, a token from Arufu Swamp.
Herag looked at him for a while and then stopped paying attention to him because the second wave of tests was about to begin.
Among the four wizard apprentices without tokens, Fergal stood at the end. He seemed to always like standing behind others.
The qualifications of the first three wizard apprentices were between sixty and seventy, and finally it was Fergal's turn.
Herag watched carefully, he was very curious about what the second-class apprentice Fergal's qualifications were.
Fergal's eyes were still emotionless, like a snake, he always had an indifferent expression as if he didn't care about anything.
He placed his hand on the crystal ball, and white mist began to swirl, eventually condensing into a number: "Five."
…
There was silence.
"Five? How did someone with five qualifications get promoted to a second-class apprentice, and at such a young age?" Herag was shocked. He thought Fergal should have high qualifications.
He recalled what Dino had said: "Look at Fergal. Although his mental strength is very high, it is extremely unstable. This kind of reliance on extreme means..."
"Extreme means... What kind of means can be used to advance to the second-class apprentice with only five qualifications..."
Dino didn't seem surprised. He coughed, breaking the silence, and said, "Now that the test is over, those who hold the token should go find their corresponding contact."
He turned to look at the eight wizards who had come to pick them up and said, "Well, everyone, there are still four wizard apprentices who don't have tokens. Which of you are willing to recruit them?"
Among these four people, except Fergal, the qualifications of the other three were above the passing line and were soon taken away by various wizarding organizations.
In the end, only Fergal was left standing there, with no one paying any attention to him.
Herag and others who were traveling with him never imagined that Fergal did not have the token and became the last wizard apprentice left.
"Is there no one?" Dino tried to ask again.
"Come to our Green Cottage." After a moment of silence, a bearded man came over and invited Fergal.
Fergal didn't say anything, just nodded slightly.
"Let's go." The bearded man said, and then walked ahead without looking at Fergal.
Dino looked at Fergal and wanted to say something, but in the end his throat moved and he still didn't speak.
