Chapter 15 - Traitor

Herag saw a man lying in the grass, in front of which was a pile of stones.

He smiled and pulled the bowstring. The dark blue auxiliary aiming showed that he could shoot the man's head through the gap in the stone.

There was another sound of breaking air, and the man lying on the ground twitched and fell silent.

There was someone squatting underneath, but his head was just a little bit sticking out.

Hellagur found the right angle and shot the man in the head, splashing red and white.

After he shot and killed four people in a row, the remaining nine people hid in a blind spot, not daring to make a sound.

"Didn't the intelligence say there was no one here? Why is there a sharpshooter here?" Someone angrily scolded the people who did intelligence work.

Now they were completely trapped by Hellagur, and no one dared to move.

Just because they don't move doesn't mean Hellagur won't move.

Deep Blue quickly calculated another excellent sniping point. Emil continued to guard the mountain pass, and Hellagur quietly moved his position.

Hellagur transformed into the god of death and took another life with one arrow.

"He's over there! Be careful!" Someone gave the information immediately, and then he was shot through the throat by an arrow.

Seeing that the situation was not good, the leading knight made up his mind and retreated at full speed.

He thought that with his speed, Hellagur should not be able to aim at him.

When Hellagur saw this, he put three arrows on his steel bow.

After these three arrows were shot, all possible escape spaces for the knight were blocked, and he was doomed to die.

The knight also noticed this situation, and a look of despair appeared on his face. Then he was shot through the heart by an arrow and fell to the ground.

Seeing this, Emil charged forward. With the leading knight dead, the others were no longer worth mentioning. Furthermore, with Herag backing him up, he didn't have to worry about his own safety.

He was like a tiger entering a flock of sheep. He chopped one person down as soon as he entered with great force, as if he was venting his frustration.

Someone nearby wanted to fight back, but just as he raised his hand, Hellagur shot an arrow through the heart.

In the end, only two of the fourteen people were left. They had surrendered and knelt on the ground with their heads in their hands, trembling.

"I ask, you answer." Hellagur said expressionlessly.

"Good! Good!" The two men were a little frightened when they saw the fine steel bow on Hellagur. This man's accuracy was too terrifying. Even knight-level strongmen were shot to death by him.

"Who are you?"

The two men thought to themselves that you are killing us without even knowing who we are. You are simply a killing god, but they said timidly: "Subordinates of Lord Simon of Behard."

"Purpose? Don't tell me you're here to attend a wedding." Herag continued to ask.

"We just came to the pumpkin farm to plunder and steal some things, because there was no one stationed there in previous years." The man on the left said, holding his head.

Without saying a word, Herag drew out his sword and killed the man with one blow.

"You tell me." Herag continued to ask.

The remaining man had blood splattered all over his face, but he didn't dare wipe it off. He was so frightened that he said in a trembling voice, "I...we are going to attack Baron Buck's castle. Our orders are to lurk around the castle. Baron Buck must die on the wedding day. Then we will join the others in attacking the castle. And...and someone in the castle has already rebelled..."

Herag and Emil looked at each other and realized the seriousness of the problem.

He continued to ask some questions, and after confirming that there was no valuable information, he gave the man a quick death.

"It seems that Simon is not willing to give up. He doesn't even give face to the Duke of Tulip. I think he is tired of living." Emil's eyes were gloomy.

Since these people dared to say that Baron Buck must die, it meant that the wizard Simon contacted would take action. Only a wizard would dare to say that he could kill a great knight-level warrior.

"We must set off immediately to inform the Baron of the news, but it may be too late now." Emile said as he hurried back to the farm.

The farm was at least seven days' journey from the castle, and the wedding would begin in four days, so they had to travel non-stop to have a chance of making it.

Herag and Emil rode their horses at high speed on the mountain road. They ate on horseback and only stopped to rest when they were extremely tired.

After three days, they were still fine, but the two horses could not run at all.

There was no choice but to leave the horses where they were and continue on foot. After all, the old horses knew the way and would get home by themselves.

On the morning of the fourth day, Herag and Emile finally walked out of the Emerald Mountains and could see the town in the distance.

When they arrived in town, the town was full of joy and everyone was celebrating Miss Melissa's marriage into the Tulip family.

"Emile! Come and have a drink!" A guard who was responsible for patrolling the town had a red face, a glass of wine in his hand, and was already drunk.

"Who told you to drink!" Emile roared.

The drunken guard said, "Butler Ivan said we could drink, and he even provided us with some good wine, saying that today is Miss Melissa's wedding day, so we can celebrate."

"Ivan!" Emil shouted the name through gritted teeth.

Ivan has been in the castle for many years and has been working with Baron Buck since a long time ago. He is usually very low-key and always works silently.

"It seems that this butler Ivan has a big problem. He shouldn't interfere in the guards' affairs." Herag said.

The butler is only responsible for internal affairs and has no authority to command the guards.

Emil said in a deep voice, "Guards on missions must not drink. This is an iron rule. Ivan must know this. Ivan usually doesn't ask about the guards' affairs. He must be the traitor, and he's probably not the only one."

When the two arrived at the castle, they found that even the guards at the castle gate had drunk some wine. When they asked, they found out that it was provided by Butler Ivan.

The banquet in the castle has already begun. This is the woman's thank-you banquet. The Duke of Tulip has only sent a butler as a representative to attend.

The wide square was filled with tables filled with a variety of delicious food and fine wines.

The open space in the middle was empty, and several dancers were dancing there.

Baron Buck and Melissa were sitting on the platform. Baron Buck was chatting and laughing with the butler of the Duke of Tulip's family.

Melissa looked depressed and didn't eat anything.

When the embarrassed Hellagur and his companion appeared in the square, they attracted everyone's attention.

Melissa saw Emil at a glance, and her melancholy eyes suddenly brightened up. She called out with tenderness in her eyes: "Emile!"

Baron Buck saw Emil's gloomy face and asked, "Why are you back?"

Emil walked to the dais and knelt on one knee. "Please forgive my rudeness, Baron. Three days ago, Herag and I wiped out a wave of invaders from the Behard territory at the Pumpkin Farm. According to the intelligence we captured alive, they will attack Baron today, and there is a traitor in the castle. We have traveled day and night just to warn Baron to be careful!"
