Camila stood in the middle of the baby room, gazing at the empty white walls as if they reflected all the dreams and hopes she held for her baby. Her hand gently brushed over her growing belly, now visibly showing. She sighed softly with a smile, though deep inside, she felt a swirl of excitement and nervousness.
She hadn't noticed Jacob approaching until he wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder and whispering,
"I think this room will be the most beautiful in the world... because the most beautiful baby will live here."
Camila laughed, turning to face him.
"Baby? What if it's a girl?"
Jacob smiled, pretending to think.
"Hmm... I don't know. What do you think it is?"
She shook her head gently.
"I don't want to guess. I just want it to be healthy... but I'm so excited to find out!"
Jacob hugged her tighter and said with tenderness,
"Whatever it is, they'll be the luckiest child in the world... because you're their mom."
Camila smiled, leaning her head back to enjoy the moment with him.
"Well, we better get ready. We don't want to miss our flight."
⸻
At the airport, everyone was buzzing with excitement. Emma and Victor sat together, chatting about all the places they wanted to visit in Portugal, while Lara was busy playfully rubbing Camila's belly.
"Oh my God, it's so visible now! Can you believe you'll be a mom in just a few months?" Lara said excitedly.
Camila smiled and held her hand.
"And you'll be the crazy aunt, right?"
Emma called from a distance,
"Crazy? No way—spoiled! This little one is going to be my spoiled baby!"
Victor raised an eyebrow and smirked.
"Excuse me? I think their favorite uncle comes first!"
Suddenly Mike chimed in,
"I think I'm going to be the favorite uncle, right little one?"
He leaned toward Camila's belly and whispered playfully,
"When you grow up, I'll teach you how to charm people just like I do with your mom."
Jacob grabbed Mike's arm and gently pulled him away.
"Back off, unlucky one. I don't want my baby picking up your habits!"
Laughter erupted all around as the boarding announcement came. They all headed toward the gate, hearts full of excitement for what awaited them.

The next day, everyone gathered in the garden of Jacob and Camila's summer home in Portugal. The place was beautifully decorated with colorful touches, but no one yet knew the baby's gender—not even Camila and Jacob themselves.
Emma admired the decorations with wide eyes.
"I love that you don't know yet! It makes it so much more exciting!"
Victor chuckled.
"Wanna bet? I say it's a boy."
Mike raised his hand.
"Me too!"
Lara shook her head.
"Nope. I have a feeling it's a girl!"
Camila stood beside Jacob, holding his hand tightly, her heart racing in anticipation. They each held a smoke popper, and the countdown began...
"Three... two... one!"
The smoke burst into the sky—pink—with confetti flowers swirling around them.
Emma screamed with joy, jumping up and down.
"A girl! I knew it!"
Mike clutched his chest dramatically.
"I don't believe this! I was so sure it was a boy!"
Everyone burst into laughter, while Jacob pulled Camila into a joyful hug. He lifted her off the ground and spun her around, exclaiming:
"Kaya... our beautiful little girl!"
It was a magical moment—one that would be remembered forever. A moment where love blossomed even more, and a family stood together to welcome the start of a new chapter, filled with warmth, laughter, and the promise of a future filled with joy.
