Days rolled by, but Denial still couldn't shake off that night with Sohee.
Even as he buried himself in his daily tasks, meetings, and back-to-back deals, that one moment—the way her hands had touched him, her bold whisper, her deep gaze—kept replaying in the back of his mind.
And then, the day of Sohee's interview finally arrived.
As planned, she came to the company. Thanks to Denial's silent influence, she was selected. Of course, no one knew that the boss himself had personally ensured she got the job.
Sohee, on her part, seemed genuinely hardworking. She was learning everything quickly, showing dedication and enthusiasm every single day.
One afternoon, as Denial walked through the office with a few senior employees discussing a project, he deliberately avoided looking in Sohee's direction. He acted like he hadn't even noticed her sitting just a few desks away.
But Sohee wouldn't let that slide.
"Sir!" Her voice rang behind him, bright and cheerful.
Denial turned around slowly, maintaining a calm expression.
"Yes?" he asked, keeping it professional. "Do you need something?"
Sohee jogged up to him with a bright smile. "Sir, it's me! Sohee! I've officially joined the team!"
Denial held back a smirk. Of course, you did, he thought. I made sure of it.
"Oh," he said coolly, "that's good. Keep up the hard work."
"Sir," Sohee continued, leaning in slightly, "are you free for lunch today? I'd love to treat you as a thank-you."
Denial checked his watch. "I have a few important meetings today," he replied, avoiding her eyes. "And I usually don't eat out."
Sohee tilted her head with a playful grin. "Then I'll bring homemade food tomorrow. Let me cook something for you, sir!"
Before Denial could answer, his secretary called for him and led him toward his next meeting.
Sohee stood there for a moment, watching him walk away in his perfectly tailored suit.
Gosh, she thought, biting her lip, he's too handsome… Every time I see him, he looks like a teenage heartthrob in a mature man's body. That jawline, those eyes... and that body! Ufff… what a sinfully hot man!
With a dreamy sigh, she walked back to her desk, heart thudding, cheeks flushed.
